That's a surprise. 168 EFL appearances, 26 goals, and still only 26. Surely he'll be snapped up by an EFL club?

I would say that Ethan was the standout signing of the awful Danny Searle years. Lots of people gave Danny credit for "finding" Chislett but it was an open secret in local football that Ethan was playing way below his level at Met Police.
Was it ? I & probably quite a few others had never heard of him until he came to us. Just like Tommy with Stokes & Tolaj, managers take a punt on players. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn’t.

Danny Searle deserves a bit of credit for this one.
Agree, if it was this ''open secret'' (which i very much doubt) then why had nobody else picked him up sooner, funny how people throw out these comments like 'open secrets'
Listen, I would not have said it if I didn't have good reason.

Maybe Graham Stovid and Beechcroft had never heard of Ethan before he came to us BUT I HAD, OK? And I'll tell you one reason I had. He was a youth player WITH US before he went to Met Police where his dad was head youth coach. I went a couple of times to see him at Met Police, where he was clearly way above Southen League Premier standard. I spoke with several people who said it wouldn't be long before he was snapped up by a club higher up the pyramid.

As for "why had nobody else picked him up sooner?", probably lots of reasons. He was playing at quite a low level at the time, so a step up to the EFL would have been problematic. He'd only just made the Met Police first team. But he'd been a youth player here and we were local, so it made sense to come back and he'd only be stepping up 2 levels to the NL not 3 to the EFL. And in any case, whoever he'd gone to, you could still have asked the same question ... why didn't he go somewhere else? It's not really a sensible question.

Bloody hell, you two. Give me a bit of a break with your snide remarks. I'm not making it up. you know.

It was the "which I very much doubt" from Beechcroft that really got my goat, Graham. Like I was telling a fairy story or something. Apologies for lumping the two of you together, the "snide" bit did not apply to you, but your posts both had the same doubting tone so I (wrongly) had a go at both of you.

Aiden O’Brien has signed a two-year contract extension at Woking. Their statement seemed keen to stress his fitness.

Also released is Ethan Chislett's former teammate in his Wimbledon days, Corie Andrews who has been released by Oxford City.

As it turns out, Corie probably played the best football of his career with us. He was the only one ever looked like scoring in the awful teams assembled by Searle and Molesley.

Good player for us, was disappointed when he left after his one year contract.

I won’t reveal my sources, but I know someone who works with a family member of Ethan. He is currently unattached, but had been wanting to leave Port Vale for some time because they dropped him too often from first team football and had never felt comfortable there.

Lovely thought he might come back, but I think it is highly unlikely.

Jordan Gallagher, cousin of Jake has left Farnham FC “ to pursue football opportunities elsewhere “ 🤔🤔 scored 13 goals in 25, so a possibility for us perhaps.
