Constructive ideas for Ground Development

I joined in the thread to make the point that, almost certainly, the people who post on here aren't the right demographic to ask.

Like everyone on here, I love our ground's location and historic feel. I went to York yesterday and came away thinking that I would hate the Shots to move out of town as York have. I want to drink in a traditional pub for a couple of hours, and stand up while I'm watching the game. An all-seater stadium on a retail park that's a 20 minute ride from the town centre sounds awful to me. I much preferred Bootham Crescent. I didn't care that it was dilapidated.

But York's attendances have gone up since they have moved. Obviously, a comfortable ground with easy parking suits people.

Hopefully Mr.Wood has found a “reasonable” structural engineer for this work, whatever it is. I’m puzzled why he should be involved though as Wates were supposed to be undertaking this work in their “agreement” with the club ?
Regarding the monthly lack of progress report, perhaps the directors are waiting to see if we will be a Football League club before pressing ahead with the demolition of the East Bank ?
Most supporters do not wish to see the East Bank demolished and a constructive suggestion from me is FORGET it and build flats at the rear and the front of the stadium instead.

Wates are not involved in the Stadium redevelopment, they are doing the housing in Redan Hill. Recalling the Fans Forum that we had last year when the plans were introduced we had too sets of presentation one from Wates and their architects regarding the housing and one from the clubs architects (stadium specialists) presenting the stadium designs.

Further to todays announcement of a Football regulatory body being set up to distribute funds through the pyramid outside the premier league, it could be that better finance will soon be available for club and stadium development.
I believe we share the same view that a relocation is the only sensible option and if that were to happen, a full redevelopment of the Recreation Ground would surely raise the finance to do so if a suitable site could be found. Most supporters travel by car these days so I don’t see a smaller stadium without parking at the same time as becoming a EFL club has any kind of logic.
The old girl has been good to us in the past but it’s the fans that make the club, not the club making the fans.
Let’s call an end to the madness of staying at the Rec and move forward with purpose and vision. Everyone else is after all.

Yes they have a number of times though to be accurate its actually the housing that needs the road but of course without the housing the stadium cant get done.

Do bear in mind that I have to assume that when I reply that the situation is still the same as I am unaware of any change but I can only be accurate to what has been said previously.

The issue has always been the purchase price as the MOD whilst prepared to sell the land were not proactively looking to do so therefore its a bit of a take it or leave it situation. However Wates are very experienced negotiators and they did say at the last forum that they felt there was a deal to done.

So why haven't the club updated us all or will that be by the Chairman's fans forum? Sorry I can't remember when the last one was..........

Maybe contact Wates and ask them they are the ones that need the rd not the football club
