Re: Reading troubles
In a week, Reading could cease to exist https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/reading-could-no-longer-exist-3610230 They will wriggle out of it somehow, the dodgy handshakes will be in full flow within the EFL & surprise, surprise, they will be saved. Good. I hope they do wriggle out of it. The las...

Re: Wealdstone 1-3 Aldershot Town - Tuesday 25th March 2025 (MatchNight Thread)
I think I would give Tommy credit for successfully identifying the problem - we were all blaming the midfield, but as others on here have said the midfield were being made to look worse when we were fielding a back three of players who were not great on the ball. We would defend successfully, win th...
Re: Widds Jr.
Tonight's excellent result serves to provide further evidence that when Theo isn't in the starting line-up, we don't miss him.
Bottom line is that ATFC do not need this player.

Re: Wealdstone v Aldershot Town - Tuesday 25th March 2025 (MatchNight Thread)
Also it's not a zero sum game. If you score loads you do tend to let some in too. But somehow they've managed to find a balance, probably because Woodhouse and Armitage are even better than we think. Defenders playing this well in an attacking side is amazing. I've noticed that when Maghoma played ...

Re: Widds Jr.
I actually mentioned Steve Watson very deliberately. One of the defences given of Theo is that he does the "dirty work" or the "unseen work" of the holding midfielder and therefore doesn't get the recognition because our fans don't see that. What nonsense. We've had many players...
Re: Widds Jr.
I'd have Lee Holsgrove over Theo - a limited player but he put himself about, broke up play, gave a simple pass to a teammate who could do something meaningful with the ball ... he made the players around him better.
Re: Widds Jr.
It's the principle of the thing. Every manager has favourites although sometimes these are players who set a good example e.g. Jordan Henderson, who has now persuaded a fifth England manager to pick him because of his good attitude. The difference is the suspicion. There are people on here, who I kn...

Re: Aldershot Town 3-3 Ebbsfleet United - Saturday 22nd March 2025 (Match Day Thread)
You are all at it again. For goodness sake give it a rest. He played ok when he came on. He can pass, but can't run or tackle. In certain games - ones where we have most of the possession - he can get away with those two failings. Thats fair but it's also fair to say that yesterday we had all kinds...

Re: Aldershot Town 3-3 Ebbsfleet United - Saturday 22nd March 2025 (Match Day Thread)
As some on here have already mentioned, he’ll be the first name on the team sheet against Woking, unfortunately. He got a bit lucky close to the end of the game yesterday, grabbing an Ebbsfleet player on the edge of our area then tried throwing him to the floor. The bloke is a walking disaster and ...

Re: STICKY : THE RUN IN ( Fixtures adding up in League and Cup ! )
The NL Cup final was originally scheduled for 1st or 2nd April but if we progress we won't have even played our semi-final by then. I suspect that the NL are quietly hoping that we get eliminated on Tuesday week.

Re: Constructive ideas for Ground Development
I joined in the thread to make the point that, almost certainly, the people who post on here aren't the right demographic to ask. Like everyone on here, I love our ground's location and historic feel. I went to York yesterday and came away thinking that I would hate the Shots to move out of town as ...
