And a bit of class which we will need next season.

Now the season is done and dusted my view would be:

Goalkeepers
Dewhurst - keep
Jordi - release
Nash - happy for him to be no2 if wage low

Defenders
Harfield - I would give him time to recover
Jenkins - give time to recover
Akpan - allow recovery
Scott - release (TW will keep though)
Maghoma - release
A Jones - release (good leader but probably decent wage and wrong side of 30)
Byrd - release
Woodhouse - sign him up if possible
Ellison - too hit and miss so wouldn’t sign
Armitage - 50:50 would be happy if we didn’t get woodhouse to have him - needs experience next to him
Milner smith - release

Midfielders
Hargreaves - keep
Theo - release
Tetek - keep
Maja - release (unlucky but not seen enough)
Frost - versatility I would keep
Turner - release
Ryan jones - keep
Anderson - as a bench player on cheap wage keep

Attackers
Henry - keep
Barrett keep
Barham keep
Ghandour release
Mullins as a fringe squad player keep
Bray - release
Corbett - release (suspect a higher earner)
Kwame - keep as squad player

I’m interested to know why so many people don’t seem to like Olly Scott?

He was superb before getting injured.

I’d keep him.

Agreed Alex, he deserved his place at left centre back before his injury and is versatile cover for LWB / CM.

I think other posters are writing off Aaron Jones too quickly. He came back in the team when we started our good run in January / February and he defends well.

Thought AJ played well on Sunday.

I like Olly Scott, started slowly and has improved a lot. Think I would keep him.

also, over the last few weeks with videos, instagram, whatever, I've really started to get a sense that AJ is a big deal in the club. Captain obviously but he's one of a couple of older players, he has experience playing abroad, and in business. I suspect he's hugely important to the squad as a leader, and absolutely won't be going anywhere. And to be fair to him, he was popping up at both ends right to the end of the season. I think it's a big ask - full back is a young man's game - but I think he's someone they'll keep around for a while yet.

Left wing back was a bit of a gap for us when the results were going wrong. Having Olly Scott would've been very helpful. Tyler did well in some games as he's our best counter attacker and injects a lot of pace and urgency, but sometimes could be a bit predictable and seemed better going forwards. I guess you'd always like to have a left footed option out there and someone like Olly who can attack and defend has to be useful to a team like ours. Not to mention his play at CB, which was a revelation when they started to want the defenders to be able to use the football.

I feel like Ellison's the player we're most likely to be able to keep just based off his CV.

He was really good for a while but had two concussions which isn't great. Then he had an alarming dip in form around York. But absolutely bossed the final.

We forget how young these lads are sometimes. Someone like Ellison could be 4-5 years away from his peak.

Think about Will Armitage, first two games down from the Southampton Academy and up against giant CF and goal kicks booming out of the sky. He won't have had that before but adapted so quickly and I'm sure will be a much better player for it. Dan Burn toughened up down the leagues before becoming the player he is now, I reckon it's a big deal for young CB.

Anyway, however many of them we can keep, I'm all for it.

Frost has been played out of position and has struggled, but injuries to other players meant there was no alternative and he did his best to fill a gap.

Next season he will revert to his natural position. So definately keep Frost.

Also Bray should be kept he will improve.

I’d keep Woodhouse, Armitage and Ellison if on permanent deals. Maybe one or two if on loan. Still feel we need an experienced cb to play in the middle of the back 3.

Would definitely keep Scott.

I'd keep Ollie Bray both for his potential and because he can play as a central striker. We have missed having many (any?) players capable of playing there.

I think the reason is that he took some time to settle in, Alex. If you recall, he had some shaky games early on. But to his credit, he grew into a very decent LWB. However, some fans had already made up their minds about him and written him off. It can take a lot to change some people's minds.

I would keep him for the night at Stockport alone!

Ah, but can you afford me? I've been keeping it close to my chest, but I have a tempting offer from Cardboard. They were impressed with what I had to say about Dan Moss and Aaron Farmer.
