Canterbury City Football Club
Canterbury City Football Club
Reading FC seem to be getting the attention at the moment but further down the pyramid Canterbury City have sought voluntary relegation from the Southern Counties East Football League Division One after failing to find a home for next season that is suitable for that level. Unlike the Gateshead situation last season if they finish in a play-off spot the team that finishes just outside the play-offs will take their place instead of Canterbury's potential opponents getting a bye to the final.

Re: Canterbury City Football Club
The Canterbury saga has been going on for decades.
The club last had a ground in the city centre in the late 1990s, but was asked to depart Kingsmead Stadium when the council wanted the land for redevelopment, which forced the club to fold before reforming in 2007.
They have been nomadic since then but the rise of clubs in east Kent coupled with two very well run leagues in the county (Kent County) and SCEFL means demands for grounds is very high but grounds at right grading levels either don't exist or clubs want huge fees to play there.
CCFC have taken the (some would say brave) decision to start again in the city (although it is on the edge) and build up.
Good luck as Canterbury should have a big club in the city imho.
