'B' team for Fylde on Tues' ?

Post by fredandballou »

Will Tommy be putting out our 'B' team v Fylde on Tuesday to keep our first team players injury free for the Trophy Semi. If we do field our 'B' team other team in the relegation scrap will not be best pleased if we appear to be gifting Fylde the three points.

Well actually, if we win at Rochdale we should still be targeting playoffs. It’s still possible, as unlike as it appears.

I don't think that's how he works. We have good players who deserve minutes though so maybe he will rest a couple?

Believe Maja and Anderson are cup tied - so you might expect them to start / play majority of minutes in the middle.
Not sure it will be a B team as such; but definitely one eye on the Sat lunchtime

I reckon a lot will depend on the result at Rochdale. If we win which would be fantastic , there will appear a realistic chance of gate crashing the play offs, given the faltering form of those above us.Then I’d expect Tommy to play his strongest team against Fylde. If we don’t win at Rochdale , I’m sure he will rest key players as some like Cam have covered miles and miles week in week out.

Go for as many points possible ,though let's remember Holdsworth rested key players before Man united and we won 5 2 at Dagenham a tactical masterclass

We also rested players up at Morecambe ahead of the Rotherham play-off game when we were flying, and it totally disrupted the momentum of the side.

Indeed it can work both ways but on the evidence of Tuesday night these players have plenty in the tank still !! Wealdstone were literally run off their feet in the second half
and Richard Walden puts the Shots 1-0 up against Man Utd

Given Maja and Anderson's unavailability for Saturday I reckon that makes Hargreaves vital for that game. I'd rest him on Tuesday. Otherwise might as well go with the usual team and keep up the positive momentum.

We’re still not safe so don’t put out a weakened side.
