Barriers/Ticket Checks/Woking Trial Run

Post by Mick Earls Fan Club »

Noticeable changes in match day process yesterday, getting new procedures in place ready for Woking I presume.

All the terraces entrances had barriers restricting entry to one person at a time. This combined with ticket checks will mean we all need to leave more time on 5th April to go about our normal business once in the stadium.

One thing that grinds my gears is the sign at the Toilet Bar saying all bottle caps will be removed. This bugs me, the whole point in the new style always connected caps was to stop the caps being removed and now staff been told to remove them.
Just how far can a cap be thrown as a weapon?
If someone was keen to throw a small missile they wouldn't pay £2 for a bottle ,it would be cheaper and more effective just to throw a 50p coin or two (if u were that way inclined)

The removing the bottle cap thing is pathetic and very annoying!

Also. Mum and me are almost always the first people in the Eastbank. We had our season cards checked when entering. As we were walking from one end of the Eastbank to the other to stand where we always do, another steward approached us and was so eager and excited to ask if our tickets had been checked. We noticed he didn’t ask anyone else! Moron.

Instead of pouncing on what I class as an innocent middle-aged mum and son just wanting to support their team and watch some football, how about you target the brain dead youth who just turn up to mess about and spend most of the 90 minutes with their back to the action!

Probably a stupid question so apologies in advance....Have my ticket on my phone, what if i deleted it by mistake after entering the ground and asked to produce it again by one of those stewards !!

Go back to the email confirming you bought a ticket . I put mine in Google wallet plus screenshot. The home game v halifax my fax supporting mate couldn't get signal on his WiFi (Vodafone is terrible in Aldershot) luckily a guy walking past had 2 comps and gave one to my mate .

All seemed to be working well but I worry with a crowd 3 times the size, the time taken to get past the checks will cause issues.

Also all stewards and gates disappeared at 3pm when the game started rendering the whole exercise pointless in the first place.

I’m sure the club will put out comms encouraging early entry for the Woking match. As discussed before, there will hopefully be some incentives to get people I. The ground and spending on merch etc.

I sit in the North Stand and yesterday was the first time this season that I was asked to produce my season ticket upon entry to the seating area. Fair enough, don't want any pesky Woeking fans anywhere near me in a couple of weeks time ....

It’ll be “interesting “ when k.o. nears, and the patrons of the t̶o̶i̶l̶e̶t̶ Hogs Back Builders bar all attempt to enter the EastBank, with ticket checks in place. Oh well, it’s not like it’s every week.

I doubt they're expecting the cap to be used as a missile - but a full bottle will inflict more damage when thrown than an empty, capless one!

Yeah they've done this for years up the leagues. You have to put the bottle top in your pocket and get through.

I asked a steward yesterday though and he confirmed that they were doing a sort of Woking rehearsal.

They were asking supporters to remove bottle tops at the Dell in 1999 and Fratton Park in 2014, I know it’s a pain in the A**e but they’re are ways around it.
