What I would say is if we beat fylde on Tuesday we’re about 90% safe, lose then that goes down by about a third in my opinion plus it might give our friends from kingfield a boost specially if they beat dale on Tuesday

4 teams won't get 50 points so we're safe now.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 11:24 am What I would say is if we beat fylde on Tuesday we’re about 90% safe, lose then that goes down by about a third in my opinion plus it might give our friends from kingfield a boost specially if they beat dale on Tuesday
Tommy did a classic of not showing our hand yesterday, with him it's all about winning the F A Trophy and he could just do it for us.

Survival is a must, but it's my dream to see Shots play at Wembley and I am running out of years
Winning the actual Trophtly i can take or leave, but obviously if we got there would be nice to win it.
So for me survival and a Wembley appearance please.

I wonder if Wigan fans value that day out over the following league seasons? I remember a few of them not caring too much about relegation at the time.Birdman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 11:14 am Re the last question, “Aldershot Town defeat Woking in the SF to reach Wembley for the first time and then win the FA Trophy Final but suffer relegation”. An immediate comparison that came to my mind is Wigan Athletic. In 2013 they won the FA Cup beating Man City but were relegated from the PL the same season. They now play in league 1 (division 3 in old money). Although it’s at a much higher level than us I wouldn’t want us to suffer a similar fate insofar as not getting back up. So, to me it’s avoid relegation and treat the Trophy as a bonus, whatever the outcome.

If we finally get there we’ll do it again within a few years because these things happen

Staying in the NL all day long and twice on a Sunday.
I personally think we are already safe anyway, there are four sides worse than us, we will get a few more points anyway.

For me survival every time over a Wembley appearance. I don't however believe 50 points will be enough this season to stay up so probably need another 3-4 to be safe and a tough game ahead Tuesday for many reasons, not least of which because Fylde will be desperate for the 3 points.

I know I'm very much in the minority, but I would take the Wembley win above another season of avoiding relegation. I've been supporting the club for over 50 years, and Wembley has been a bucket list item for a long time. Whereas relegation wouldn't be the end of the world for me (nor hopefully for the club).
Apologies to anyone who doesn't feel the same, but the OP asked for genuine opinions. In any case I don't think there's any real chance we will go down now.

You're not getting relegated, no way
With all our injuries and players cup tied it could be a 3-0 home stroll

Not that I think we will be getting relegated but those that do go will find it hard as the NLS and NLN are not easy divisions to get out of.MikeB wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 6:13 pm I know I'm very much in the minority, but I would take the Wembley win above another season of avoiding relegation. Let’s worry about getting to W first.
