Could not believe it's now £3.50 but I suppose people have been buying a copy as a souvenir

Mad price, can't see how they justify it.

A print newspaper lasts longer than a pint

We have to thank google for wrecking local and other newspapers, which, in addition, have seen steep rises in paper and production costs... while employing professional journalist. Google to blame? Google took away a huge amount of ad revenue from newspapers and other media. The ad revenue kept the purchase price of newspaper low for many decades, in some cases centuries. Also, starting a bit later, local newspaper revenue was heavily damaged by estate agents and car dealers going online.

I was amused by some young friends and other young fans (early 20s) at Wembley who were excited to be holding printed tickets that had been hand delivered by posties. All they, like many of us oldies, usually have are QR codes. They also said they would value them as souvenirs. Good point. I was then envious.
Never say never - unless!

Souvenir issue surely?

I got two copies of all the papers everytime we won something or had a cup upset. Going back to our first ever league win in 1987

These times don't come around often

A couple of years ago, I found a copy of the Aldershot News from 1973 celebrating our Friday night draw at Stockport, when we finally won promotion from division 4 for the very first time. A very interesting read, remembering the Roger Joslyn goal, and then the fantastic Tony Godfrey save about 10 minutes from the end to keep us in the game, followed by the huge celebration on the pitch by players and supporters.
