I don't know how they can afford to do that with 1,500 crowds and fighting relegation again.
Most likely they manage on lower players wages.

Birdman has said it often enough that fans should put aside a set sum every month and then they will be able to pay for a season ticket in full. Why should the club do it when we, as fans, don't.
That's not rocket science is it

We rely almost exclusively on match revenue. Other than sponsorship, we have virtually no other revenue. The vast majority of clubs, even at levels far below us, have regular income from social activities, events, etc. When the Rec redevelopment goes ahead..er..anyway, ..meanwhile, stump up, punters..

Isn’t one of the bars hired out for weddings and functions etc?

The world is now a subscription world. Everything is paid monthly/or weekly as it recurs.
The attraction for the vendor is hooking the customer so the payment becomes automatic/transparent and continues for ever.
The attraction for the customer is spread payments / no lumpy costs.

If a season ticket was £360 per year, that at true cost is £30 per month (and maybe the club intend/need to raise to £400). (My fictional numbers - no knowlegde in reality)

I am sure many people would happily pay £39.99/per month for the above reasons of predictability. Netting the club £480 year after year and turning the pain into the positive.

This is far more positive that just saying "...everyone should have saved £360 during the LAST season (whilst travelling home and away in a cost of living crisis). OH! and the £360 you saved isnt quite enough anyway.... Sorry chaps."

As with everything ; things dont work out that simplistically and the first piece of money advice from every guru is "Cancel subscriptions" most of which you don't use/need. A season ticket commits you to 23 games a season, it was obvious many didn't bother turning up for the DS MM dross ,so is it really something you need when looking at your finances ? How often are you going to be forced to not attend due to K/O's being switched to 12.30 or another day? And-reality biting, your season ticket savings are going to be the first Peter you rob to pay Paul.

......but then presumably, PayPal would want something, I know there are charges by the banks as well.

Season ticket holders walking away / cancelling mid season is always the argument against such a plan.

I would argue if I was chairman and this trend started kicking in... then the recitification is entirely within my own hands, given I choose the manager of the day.

The same problem exists under the old model; and can be seen in the turnstile data (when ST holders skip matches); it just doesnt bite you in the arse until the following May/June renewal period.

In reality we know the ST holders are the last to walk away; and then maybe only 10 or 20% exercise that right. They certainly arent going to do it after 1 bad game.

I also think we should offer a "Weekend only" subscription plan (eg eligible only for Sat/Sunday and Bank holiday matches). I am not sure how many games we average on a Tuesday night. But for those out of the area; or who bring children under 11. This would be super attractive. It just needs some decent modelling and conviction to execute,

That isn't a bad idea RC but we do have limited staff numbers, rely heavily on volunteers, and the administration of creating too many options surely cannot help when in the current world everything is wanted instantly.
I prefer the simplicity of the current system in these circumstances.

Yes absolutely, I'm sure our fancy ticket app could host such a thing without too much fuss.

So we have the 8th highest average attendance in the league.
We are one of the more expensive clubs to watch.
We have a bottom 8 budget.
And we're being softened up for a price increase which I get the feeling will be £2.

As there has been no announcement yet is the 'softening up' you mention as a result of Deane Woods program comment? Hardly a softening up unless I have missed something.

I know the club will say it needs the money but I think £23 a game for non season ticket holders is comfortably more than what it should be let a lone an increase this summer should it happen, it should be no more than about £16/17 in my opinion but no chance of that happening again!

In reality, why would anyone need a season ticket at this level? Games rarely sell-out and even when they do (Woking) you always have time to secure a ticket if you wanted to go. The only benefit I see to owning a season ticket is on the off-chance you manage to get through to the Third Round of the FA Cup and manage to get a plum home tie. Even then you'd still need to buy the ticket alongside what you've already spent on your season ticket and although it provides you first dibs (added peace of mind), as we saw with Manchester United in 2011, it's not just season ticket holders who would be able to get a ticket relatively easily.
