Get to Wembley and we could lose him
Get to Wembley and we could lose him
Wouldn't surprise me if TW isn't on the radar of a number of Club's.
And if he gets us to Wembley it wouldn't surprise me if a few of them start knocking on the door.

With the new consortium soon to take over at Gateshead and manager Carl Magnay expected to be replaced they could well be making 'Geordie' Tommy an offer too good to refuse.

I don’t think so.
Think he’ll be our manager next season.

Re: Get to Wembley and we could lose him
I think he could get jobs. Plays attractive football, has an eye for a player, outwardly charismatic, talks good sense (I know some disagree here but I really think he does), presumably has a good network in the game. If he feels underappreciated here (I'm not saying he does, but he might) then it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility to see him go. I'd guess that the most likely change would be a move to somewhere like Southend or Colchester, otherwise presumably he'll be keen to see what this team can do next season. As he's said several times on interviews, they always thought they were really close to being very good, and probably he's been proven right there. Come into next season with the right squad and I think we'd all expect to be top 10 at least.

I'm thinking the same thing, IF he got offered a gig at a club with a bigger budget/ more ambition/ better organised, then I could see him leaving.Silasgoldeen wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 10:46 am I think he could get jobs. The commute from Essex must be a pain as well.
I just wonder if he has a demand that wherever he goes, so does junior.

Would it surprise you? He showed no loyalty to King's Lynn and we are hardly a massive attraction, just another step up .Cph.shots wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 10:54 amI'm thinking the same thing, IF he got offered a gig at a club with a bigger budget/ more ambition/ better organised, then I could see him leaving.Silasgoldeen wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 10:46 am I think he could get jobs. Nothing surprises me in football anymore!

And to think but a few short weeks ago Tommy was being vilified on here for being tactically inept, and now he’s a potential “target” for other clubs?
Only on Shotsweb, eh?

Re: Get to Wembley and we could lose him
I could see Tommy at Southend definitely. Otherwise I'm struggling to see which other National League clubs Tommy would go to. I think he'd be unlikely to relocate for some of the bigger clubs like Oldham, Hartlepool or York. And all of the southern clubs in the division would be a backwards or sidewise move for him.
He also doesn't strike me as the type of manager that Football League clubs would be lining up for. Aldershot is the biggest managerial job he's had, and he's not a 'new age' coach that seem to be more popular in the EFL.
