Cycling to Barnet

Post by chimpster99 »

My young lad, Tom, will be cycling for charity from Aldershot to Barnet on the 26th April, ahead of the National League match at The Hive. The plan is to leave the EBB Stadium early in the morning, with brief photo-stops at several non-league grounds along the way, a distance of over 90km in total. He will be accompanied along the way by his uncle (my bro) Brian, and I will be driving the support vehicle.

Tom is raising money for three charities – Macmillan Cancer Support, the Shots Foundation and the Hive Foundation. The cycle has been inspired by his grandfather, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and he's also keen to support the community efforts of both clubs, hence his choice of charities.

If anyone is feeling generous, any donations would be very much appreciated:

I'm aware that a couple of regulars on here have already donated, and we're really humbled by your contributions.

We have also set up an Instagram account which will provide updates during the lead-up to the event and on the day:

Hi everyone, just giving this one a bump. The donations continue to come in with some amazing displays of generosity from the Shots faithful. We have already had to double our fundraising target!
