hows the pitch

Post by ganesh »

Forecast high percentages of rain.

Tonight, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday morning.

Visiting supporters from Hartlepool, decision should be made Friday afternoon at the latest to be fair to all.

Saw a picture on facebook today of how the pitch looked on monday, not good.

The pitch on Monday evening looked exactly the same as the day of the Fylde game. Still heavily covered in sand and patches all over. With rain forecast on Thursday and Friday and the club not wanting to be accused of another late postponement, I think there's a high possibility of the game being called off.

...notwithstanding the prospect of a surprise period of heavy snow.

Feel sorry for the stray shots who are making the trip over.
1) If it gets postponed fri/sat most will have already arrived and spent good money to get here to may not even see the shots play.
2) the fact they are going to have to see the general state of the club on and off the pitch with their own eyes.
What an eyesore the ground/pitch is gonna be for them when they arrive through the turnstiles for the ones who haven't been back to the rec for a very long time.

And I'm not being fooled for the 3rd time with the buy early bird before 3pm Thursday and then Friday/Saturday buy your match ticket now to avoid the queues at the gate nonsense. ..I will buy one if it's 2:30pm Saturday and the players are out warming up on the pitch 😅
The earliest I'll buy one now.

Any volunteers on here willing to give us an update of what is being done to the pitch this week, if anything? Surely we need to get Saturday's match played and would expect the club to be pulling out all the stops in order to get it on. We've had a good dry spell in the past 10 days or so which must have helped.

I'm surprised the sand hasn't been mechanically hoovered off the pitch in order to spike and roll.
