ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
According to Facebook, ATFC SC have one of their regular meetings with the Football Club tomorrow.
This is the erudite post:-
The sc is holding one of its regular meetings tomorrow and asked for members of the club to be involved which they have kindly accepted .
Can we expect a Ground Development deflection announcement ahead of Saturday’s home game?

Re: ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
I have no idea what their definition of 'regular' is but I cannot see on their website any summaries/agenda/minutes of previous meetings.HackJowarth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:11 pm According to Facebook, ATFC SC have one of their regular meetings with the Football Club tomorrow.

Maybe they just email details of the meetings to members only which again is pertinent to my question whether anyone on here is a member.

Unfortunately, the ability to comment on FB was turned off. You would’ve thought an announcement on here would follow?abee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:34 pmI have no idea what their definition of 'regular' is but I cannot see on their website any summaries/agenda/minutes of previous meetings.HackJowarth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:11 pm According to Facebook, ATFC SC have one of their regular meetings with the Football Club tomorrow.

I was beginning to doubt that the SC even had a pulse but maybe they are stirring themselves.
We can all look forward to reading about the meeting on their website then.

I’m still waiting for the hospitality evening to be announced after the fans topped up Shahid’s takeover bid. Maybe I missed the fax but it was promised, cancelled and not rearranged.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:46 pm I reckon the begging bowl.will be out to add insult to injury .
Re: ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
Isn't the supporters club ran by the football club anyway? I can't see them asking any uncomfortable questions.
Re: ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
I’m not on any social media but are you able to check on the SC Facebook page and see if they announced when their last ‘regular’ meeting with the ATFC board/representatives was?HackJowarth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:38 pmUnfortunately, the ability to comment on FB was turned off. As an aside I think it a great pity that the two formerly regular posters that we have lost namely Richard Petty and Dr Jim (?) are not prepared to post anymore because I would be most interested in their input.
Look I don’t care if Shahid Azeem is the nicest bloke in the world, sees old ladies across the road and helps struggling bugs out of his swimming pool. This is all about whether he is the best person available to run ATFC and I don’t believe he is but would have liked to have heard an opposing view. Not replies of the ‘he’s the only game in town’ sort of response as no one is talking about buying him out but simply whether the club would be better run if Shahid stepped to one side on the executive (whilst retaining the position of non-executive chairman) and let a small number of well qualified supporters try to pull it together.

Would be good to hear some propaganda from those two, but I think they realised how ridiculous their position had became. As for better qualified supporters pulling it together I think it's too broken for that.abee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:04 pmI’m not on any social media but are you able to check on the SC Facebook page and see if they announced when their last ‘regular’ meeting with the ATFC board/representatives was?HackJowarth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:38 pmUnfortunately, the ability to comment on FB was turned off. Re: ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
I don't think it is.. there's plenty of souls who could I'm sure he prepared to take up the position abee suggests and is something I believe most supporters ( and the 'supporters club') makeup would endorse. RP ,GB, TO for Instance or etc.. The energy and drive is around ,whether the current incumbent is able to accept for the good of the club is up to them ; no 'big buyer' is available or interested. We certainly need new impetus and drive at this junction on the pitch and with this Ground thing. Modernisation and improvements to the ground is crucial for a minimum. (I believe the glossy ambitious transformation project as per website is obviously off) Maybe this is now time for a collective 'Trust' or the SC to come up with ideas and make a plan?Ex Attendant wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:32 pmWould be good to hear some propaganda from those two, but I think they realised how ridiculous their position had became. Hi Abee, I have just trawled back through the SC’s FB page to the beginning of Sept 24. There’s nothing on there with any teeth. Just the usual Bingo, PotM, Spin The Wheel sort of gubbins. All good stuff but no cutting questions or announcements.abee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:04 pmI’m not on any social media but are you able to check on the SC Facebook page and see if they announced when their last ‘regular’ meeting with the ATFC board/representatives was?HackJowarth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:38 pmUnfortunately, the ability to comment on FB was turned off. I think a ‘Shadow Board’ sat opposing Shahid and his Cabal is spot on. The expertise available, for next to nothing, is never ending. Not sure about 1 or 2 of your suggested troops though.

For avoidance of doubt my view is that the current four directors all go 'non-exec' and at least two and preferably three or four well qualified supporters take on the executive duties.
It may be that the SC is finally stirring itself unless the 'regular' meeting scheduled for tomorrow is a pure co-incidence and not as a result of the comments on here. If not and there have been regular meetings in the past that they seemingly haven't bothered to minute then I don't know what they stand for unless they believe that the present executive team of SA, JL and DW is the very best that the club can come up with to run the place.
It's not and it's not that fcuking hard to do better.

Richard always tried to be a link between the supporters & the chairman, I do recall on a few occasions in the past, he tried to set up meetings with the odd fan who had a lot to get of his/her chest. Whether that was taken up by anyone he tried to help, you would have to ask those involved. On this front, Richard (just as Brian is doing now) , would give you a straight answer, it maybe not what you wanted to hear sometimes, but he always gave a good insight of how things worked. I would also say, that he did not agree with how things had been done by the club at times, and was never afraid to say so.
In a similar way, the Dr just got fed up with people having a go at the board & not being prepared to face up to them like he once did. Having said that, I do agree that we are a broken Fanbase at present. I think Abee makes a good point in having these two & Brian as a communication link between the BOD & fans, it would be a good idea to try.
Sadly, I don’t think the SC would be able to be this link, despite the early promise when it was formed, it hasn’t seemed to be working.

Graham not quite true what your saying. The good Dr does have an agenda. I met people from the club which further endorsed my negative view of them.Graham Stovold wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 7:24 pmThink you’re being unfair regards Richard & Dr Jim, there was never any propaganda from either imo.Ex Attendant wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:32 pmWould be good to hear some propaganda from those two, but I think they realised how ridiculous their position had became. Richard bless him was used as a way of getting the boards points across. Bless him he finally sussed this when he was made to look the fool guy over pitch gate.
Re: ATFC Supporters Club Meeting With ATFC
All very well saying The Supporters Club or a fans representative assist on the board but there have been too many that had that position and knew that they were only in that position for cosmetics sake. Too many knew they were not being listened to and too many resigned that position as a result. Obviously the latest was a representative from The Trust and we all know how that turned out. Whilst The Supporters Club are supposedly meeting with the board I do not believe they have a representative attending official board meetings.
