The BT building is a game changer

About 10 years or so ago the club looked at whether is was feasible to acquire the BT building, the cost of purchasing it wasn’t unreasonable but the cost of the cleanup of the site was astronomical, apparently there’s loads of asbestos in it and then all the copper cables that run out of it would need to be removed, if I remember correctly the estimated figure was about £25 million for purchase and clean up.

I’m confident you may know a few ‘customers’ who maybe able to assist with the copper removal turnkey

The clean up cost would come out of the headline price.

Am i the only one thinking the eastbank will look weird and odd with 3 fresh new looking stands. We all love it but might aswell complete the job as it will need doing one day surely

Pedantry is limited by the language and logic it seeks to correct. The man with 1p in his pocket claiming that the Pope himself holds his penny piece to be greater than God, as he told him "Nothing is as great as God" And as we all know, 1p is better than nothing.

Very true, Monsieur Pussy Cat. It takes a veritable pedant to appreciate that there is a subtle difference between "nothing" and "no thing", but your example shows that nicely. Of course, these things go right over the head some people. I won't name them for fear of being charged with "pomposity".

I do wonder if those Shotsweb friends who accuse me of pomposity have ever met some of the really pompous twits that are around. Jeez, they should come up against some of the people that I was forced to work with.

Nah. The steel frame and the bank are there, which would be the most costly thing to build from scratch.
One the terracing is overlaid with new concrete and the steel frame covered in new cladding to match the style and colour scheme of the other stands it will match in beautifully.

Complete with the same pillars I assume offering the same restricted view. The EB is a throwback to a bygone era and really should be updated to, at the very least, negate the need for roof support pillars.
