The clean up cost would come out of the headline price.Graham Stovold wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 3:53 pmI’m confident you may know a few ‘customers’ who maybe able to assist with the copper removal turnkeyTurnkey wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 3:47 pmAbout 10 years or so ago the club looked at whether is was feasible to acquire the BT building, the cost of purchasing it wasn’t unreasonable but the cost of the cleanup of the site was astronomical, apparently there’s loads of asbestos in it and then all the copper cables that run out of it would need to be removed, if I remember correctly the estimated figure was about £25 million for purchase and clean up.![]()
Say Land Value 9m for 3 Acres and that's pushing it
Say Clean Up 1m inc resale of demolition
Net Value 8m

If pointing out the meaning of words (like house, home, or even pomposity) constitutes an ostentatious display of dignity or importance, you are as guilty of pomposity as I amkarlready wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 3:47 pmPomposity…vain or ostentatious display of dignity or importance.Old Bob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 2:31 pmThank you for that, Tony. Interesting that some people can't tell the difference between pomposity and a genuine interest in language.tonygodfrey wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 1:35 pm I'm backing Bob. Where would we be without a bit of pedantry eh?
I rest my case.

Unless I am mistaken, the anti Board chanting comes from the East Bank? Smart move to say it’s staying, particularly with a high profile home game coming up!

Am i the only one thinking the eastbank will look weird and odd with 3 fresh new looking stands. We all love it but might aswell complete the job as it will need doing one day surely

Pedantry is limited by the language and logic it seeks to correct. The man with 1p in his pocket claiming that the Pope himself holds his penny piece to be greater than God, as he told him "Nothing is as great as God" And as we all know, 1p is better than nothing.tonygodfrey wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 1:35 pm I'm backing Bob. Very true, Monsieur Pussy Cat. It takes a veritable pedant to appreciate that there is a subtle difference between "nothing" and "no thing", but your example shows that nicely. Of course, these things go right over the head some people. I won't name them for fear of being charged with "pomposity".hepcat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 6:20 pmPedantry is limited by the language and logic it seeks to correct. I do wonder if those Shotsweb friends who accuse me of pomposity have ever met some of the really pompous twits that are around. Jeez, they should come up against some of the people that I was forced to work with.

Nah. The steel frame and the bank are there, which would be the most costly thing to build from scratch.Staines Shot wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 6:15 pm Am i the only one thinking the eastbank will look weird and odd with 3 fresh new looking stands. One the terracing is overlaid with new concrete and the steel frame covered in new cladding to match the style and colour scheme of the other stands it will match in beautifully.
Re: Long interview with Shahid
So when does this all start?
Re: Long interview with Shahid
Complete with the same pillars I assume offering the same restricted view. The EB is a throwback to a bygone era and really should be updated to, at the very least, negate the need for roof support pillars.Ian Rust wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:54 pmNah. Would that be the one that fellow supporters had a tug of war over leading to it being taken back from whence it came?WTF wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:44 amDoes that include the "AZEEM OUT" banner?Alex wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 9:57 amA chant that is very quickly drowned out by support for the team!HackJowarth wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 6:00 pm Unless I am mistaken, the anti Board chanting comes from the East Bank?
