Brighton FA Cup 7500
Re: Saturday’s game now sold out
I welcome KE's posts as he does indeed make some valid points. I don't know how Saturday's game will go and I wouldn't be surprised if Effiong plays well as he did against us last season for Dagenham last season, much though I don't like him.
I did go last night and thought it was a disappointing attendance and our Tuesday night crowds do seem to be alot lower. I'm sure there are many contributing factors but Aldershot is not an appealing town to visit or walk through at the best of times, let alone at night. Paying at least £20 is alot given all the high costs of living and imminent increases. I think if we were realistically in with a chance of the playoffs we would get more but playing a Northern side fighting relegation and with a small following is not attractive to many.

Do you think Armitage was rested last night so he’s ready for a battle with Effiong?Alf W wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:56 pm I welcome KE's posts as he does indeed make some valid points. I thought that might be the case as Maghoma had the task on Boxing Day and won't be available.redblueuptoyou wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:59 pmDo you think Armitage was rested last night so he’s ready for a battle with Effiong?Alf W wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:56 pm I welcome KE's posts as he does indeed make some valid points. Nowhere near the support they need to fund the team, let alone a ground fit for purpose. We've seen it all before, when Mr Hugo decides he's not going to waste any more money on them they will vanish. They had 234 in the league a couple of weeks ago. Thats wont pay for players playing 2 divisions below their level
Re: Saturday’s game now sold out
Very true LBS as there were massive gaps on the away terraces for the Man Utd game. In "fairly" recent times most impressive (in terms of numbers and distance) for away support have to be Plymouth by a country mile.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 6:35 pmSold out ticket wise but united didn't all turn up

Re: Saturday’s game now sold out
Got a horrible feeling about this. When was the last time we won at home in front of a large crowd (lets say 4000+)? Woking at home in Waddock's second season?
I'm also concerned about Effiong vs our young back three. Especially given it was Maghoma who kept him quiet on Boxing Day and how Armitage struggled vs John Akinde on debut.
We are the better team on form but Woking's squad has hardly been assembled on peanuts and they have the players like Effiong and Beautyman who could hurt us. We have the players to hurt them but I hope Tommy doesn't start Barrett and Henry alongside each other.
Really hope I'm wrong, and that the Shots prove me wrong and turn up in a big game!

Re: Saturday’s game now sold out
I think the Armitage/Woodhouse partnership has improved much since that Braintree game. From memory didn't Maghoma concede a penalty in the Boxing Day game although he did then improve thereafter in his man to man marking of Effiong who was eventually subbed ?I tend to agree that it doesn't appear to work with both Henry and Barrett alongside each other . I think Ryan Jones could be the ace in the pack . For sure it looks like a very close battleMidlandsShot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 8:41 pm Got a horrible feeling about this.
