Exeter City

Read my comment again in its entirety, not just my last six words. It’s in reference to the 700 Trust members who pledged and those who actually followed through with their pledge. There was a line in that first link that I pasted yesterday which went “Of the 700 or so people that originally pledged to provide funds for a community-funded scheme, only 200 of those so have done so at this current time."
This reminded me of something a work colleague said to me when I was working in London back in the ‘70’s, and I quote “talk costs nothing, money builds houses”.![]()

No forgive me birdman, it must be because I am very simple. I understand maybe it will mean no bacon rolls or doughnuts. Who knows ?Birdman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 10:08 pmRead my comment again in its entirety, not just my last six words. That's interesting Sean. Was in hospitality a few seasons ago and was talking to a director who was on the board when Brian was there. Amongst other things he said he was the one who pushed and got Terry and Graham as the club ambassadors. I think what this shows is that Brian was if anything a person who wanted to develop the structure of the club.

Absolutely bang on the money, also lot of people when it comes to it talk the talk but they don’t walk the walk, sometimes these are the ones who make the most noise.

Yep, also Brian was definitely a Director who engaged a lot with the supporters of the club.He always popped over to Wally’s bar pre match and was always available to talk to the supportersWTF wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 9:46 amThat's interesting Sean. The way the pair of them have been treated at times has been shocking. Shahid barely speaks to Terry and Graham was resorted to having to sell his book on a table outside the ground. An absolutely disgraceful way to treat the two Co Founders of this football club.

Aldershot Town Football club need new blood in the boardroom. It needs cash easy for me to say. I will gladly help with what I can. Mr Azeem and the others including the speedway chap and the Citroen man need to move away. Something is very wrong.
If you can get a fan or fans involved it will make a difference, though one thing is certain we either need to purchase a ground or the present Ebb ourselves if possible. Aldershot need to own something
I still don't understand why Mr Azeem got involved in the first place before he became Chairmen. He had no connection with Aldershot and left the two clubs he was previously at very quickly. He fell on his feet with the money from Mr Abromovich.
The last director I am unsure if he is an Aldershot fan, certain he is a builder, just wonder what he was promised.I

Mr Azeem received a ‘vote of no confidence’ from his fellow Board members at Woking and had to step down instantaneously. He then rocked up at Aldershot.Rba wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 9:43 am Aldershot Town Football club need new blood in the boardroom. It needs cash easy for me to say. I will gladly help with what I can. Be careful what you wish for. Running a football club is hardly a walk in the park and a fan-led group taking over the Club would be doomed as things stand in my opinion, as well as being unaffordable. Again, in my opinion the only way it would work is if Rushmoor mandated fan/community involvement out of recognition that the Rec belongs to the Community.Rba wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 9:43 am Aldershot Town Football club need new blood in the boardroom. A tale we have heard a few times on here, an unproven story probably posted by a Woking fan who pops on here now and again.HackJowarth wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 10:50 amMr Azeem received a ‘vote of no confidence’ from his fellow Board members at Woking and had to step down instantaneously. We have never heard Shahid’s side of this story, so until that happens, it is just tittle tattle to me.

Not discrediting you hack, my point I was trying to say is that we have only heard one side of the story from Woking end. Shahid has kept his counsel on the background of the story, (and rightly so), so we will never be able to judge.HackJowarth wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 12:55 pmIt’s in the public eye Graham or I wouldn’t have posted.Graham Stovold wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 12:51 pmA tale we have heard a few times on here, an unproven story probably posted by a Woking fan who pops on here now and again.HackJowarth wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 10:50 am

Hardly tittle-tattle then.
