Long interview with Shahid
Re: Long interview with Shahid
Why did he not do this earlier ? let's hope it falls into place. We have to thank thank an Ex director from a West London club for making this happen. See it was not hard. Let's wait till we have real good news then we can move on.

So unless things don’t happen soon, we could quite possibly end up nowhere.

I wonder if the lease has actually been signed ?

Mr Azeem referred to other parties who had an interest in buying into the club but, after failing our due diligence checks, didn't get involved and ended up investing elsewhere - and then implies that things went badly with those investments elsewhere.
Does anyone know who/which clubs he was referring to?

Good point and the number one risk. This area is very much off HCC's radar and is a failing Local Authority besides.Graham Stovold wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 7:55 pm One thing that I noticed, it’s a good thing that RBC have given their support to the redevelopment. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I knew of one prospective investor who I actually went and met. Not aware that they bought into another club in the UK but had invested heavily in an Italian Club.mdg wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 7:57 am Mr Azeem referred to other parties who had an interest in buying into the club but, after failing our due diligence checks, didn't get involved and ended up investing elsewhere - and then implies that things went badly with those investments elsewhere.

The location of our club severely restricts any major investment other than from the current support base.
I learnt one new thing from the interview. Since 2017 our travel, hotels, stewarding and utilities has gone up from 100k to apparently circa 250k.

Perhaps Wates will change the plans. I would have thought that putting decent flats there would be more profitable. More homes in less space. The amount of space they would have saved by removing the EB would not be a lot, as the new stand would probably take half the space anyway. More homes would also be popular with the council who are under pressure to find space under labours housing scheme.

The make or break of the development will be the required social housing element. It's a pity the BT building couldn't be bought, as this would enable a more intensive build program.margateshot wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 8:38 am Perhaps Wates will change the plans. Will there be a social housing element Brian? Could Waites claim that they are improving a local amenity by developing the football club so be exempt. I'm not an expert on these things.brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 8:46 amThe make or break of the development will be the required social housing element. No idea what will happen to it but I’ve just been told the BT exchange will be closed/gone within the next 5 years or so, and the smaller building in Alton.brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 8:46 amThe make or break of the development will be the required social housing element. A potential downside to retaining the EB is the impact that will have on other areas of the ground. Moving the EB, and the pitch, some way north-east of its current footprint produces more space at the HS end and on the south side. Whatever happens with the EB however, surely has to incorporate a roof structure which allows for the removal of the pillars.

It was the chancer who went to Gateshead and got them demoted in 2019 for financial irregularities.mdg wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 7:57 am Mr Azeem referred to other parties who had an interest in buying into the club but, after failing our due diligence checks, didn't get involved and ended up investing elsewhere - and then implies that things went badly with those investments elsewhere.

We were also total some time ago that Katz approached the club at the same time he did Woking. However I think after he looked at the books he didnt come back?
