Re: hows the pitch
We were told by Todd Johnson we need a new pitch as soon as the season is over
And its going to cost £500,000
It does seem everyone is struggling with their pitches right now

How about Cove , only 5 miles away and I could walk to it .chimpster99 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:32 pm With the current situation and the high likelihood of more wet weather in the coming weeks, I sincerely hope the club has a Plan B stadium lined up.
Does anyone know if Farnborough is up to NLP standards? I imagine it is, but then again they may have their own challenges, or no interest in sharing.
After that we would be travelling a distance. Can't see Woking ever being an option, or Reading ever being affordable, so maybe Slough's 3G is the next best option?
Any other realistic options?

Not a hope of meeting the required standards!! Same for Farnham, Ash, Baggy and Alton before anyone asks!!Coveshot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:50 pmHow about Cove , only 5 miles away and I could walk to it .chimpster99 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:32 pm With the current situation and the high likelihood of more wet weather in the coming weeks, I sincerely hope the club has a Plan B stadium lined up.

A Shots fan who some probably know actually offered his services and advice as he could see what was happening.
He is in the turf maintenance industry, why didn’t they take up his kind offer?

Re: hows the pitch
This is all totally the clubs fault, the quality of the pitch should be a priority for any football club and checking on the reliability of the drainage is not a nice to do thing its an essential. We know we have no money but we did get a winndfall last season surely we should have clawed some of that back to get this sorted.

It's been pissing down all evening here in Fleet
Took my son over to Eversley earlier in the evening , equally wet
Why they going to put us through another round of jeopardy and feck about with the long distance fan both home and away

Truro
Torquay
Weston
Eastbourne
Worthing (Brighton)
Bath
Weymouth (if there's a miracle)
Some cracking away weekends to look forward to! It would be horrible initially, but a bit of a feast for the amateur groundhoppers and coastal boozers among the Shots faithful.

A 3G pitch and the loss of the East Bank in a redevelopment stadium, the Recreation Ground will not feel the same.
The heart, passion and soul will have been ripped out if the club.
