Enough is enough
Re: Enough is enough
I lost all faith in TW when I read his Eastleigh HOME match programme notes when he said that as fans are not present behind the scenes, or on the training pitch, then fans opinions on the team are to be taken with a pinch of salt. An attempt to close down all discussion from fans - Management knows best, just pay your money and support, etc etc.

"What we do" currently is select some players who should be nowhere near this league, run around like headless chickens and give up when we go behind.
The managers of the teams around us must be rubbing their hands with glee!

I make it that we've had six League wins (three of those coming in August)
But seven wins in Cups (not including Hants or ADFA)

7 league wins in 11 months. Today showed our lack of cutting edge, we had rasonalble possession but floundered in front of goal. After 30 minutes we were not at the races. We need to dig deep and drag these players over the line.Mick Earls Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 8:46 pm I make it that we've had six League wins (three of those coming in August)

Spot on. I remember a certain poster on here echoing those comments saying we shouldn't question TW. 7 wins since the middle of last March is all you need to know or 20 points from last 23 games.Stenhouse wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 7:39 pm I lost all faith in TW when I read his Eastleigh HOME match programme notes when he said that as fans are not present behind the scenes, or on the training pitch, then fans opinions on the team are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Stick by what I said.
Very soon we will drop into the bottom four.
We will not get back out of it.
I have absolutely no desire at all to watch ATFC in the National League South.
As others have mentioned, instead of getting so angry and upset with it all, be easier to just stop caring!

I get what you’re saying Alex, I am very much of the same conclusion except for the last bit. I have accepted our fate but No matter what, I will always care, whether I go to games as much as, I am unsure.Alex wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:04 am Stick by what I said.

Because our manager is still stubbornly trying to prove that he was right to shell out a fee for Kai Corbett.brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 10:51 pm

Corbett may score for fun in cup games against lower league opposition (and presumably in training sessions), but has shown no evidence of an ability to cope with the physicality of NL games yet.
After coming on yesterday for 50 mins, his contributions were:
1) a nice pass to Frost inside the box
2) a free kick into the stand from a good central shooting position
3) a free kick from out wide that didn't beat the 1st defender
Hard to see how he was ever going to succeed against Eastleigh's massive, wily defence but, hey, "don't doubt me !" says Tommy....

Tommy has now become the modern day equivalent of Comical Ali. He had a lot of credit in the bank for me but I’m afraid it’s evaporated. His snipes at the fans are unacceptable when frankly a child of 5 could spot the problems with the team selection while his social media behaviour is childish and embarrassing. Time for change.

I certainly don't think we'd come back in a hurry . I'd say at that level they'd be a few clubs on better budgets than us .Alex wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:04 am Stick by what I said.

I think it'd be the beginning of the end of ATFC, which I am sure would suit certain people.

Look how long Stockport were down there.
York were down for long enough.
These teams go down, regroup, come back and push on.
Most have a plan, a backing, fans onside.
The problem with Aldershot is lack of infrastructure and a clear plan.
There was one in 92. "Get back to the football league". Then what? Absolutely nothing.

Yes Stockport spent a ridiculous 6 years in the National League north, now they’re pushing for the second tier, a splendid recoveryMartin Patfield wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 5:37 pmlowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 2:40 pmI certainly don't think we'd come back in a hurry .
