Yes it hasn't got good ambience, but I'm looking forward to going there and winningAlex wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 9:51 pmWhy? Another club expense on away travel.
Looking forward to our visit to The Hive next month.
And they will just continue to go up and down, up and down![]()

Hi "SS", We must have been in the same team - I played for "Readie's teams" for about 10 seasons from 1985. What's your name?

Firstly I want to say how much I appreciate the fact we get radio commentaries for the vast majority of games - it's invaluable for stray Shots and also for fans who aren't able to get to every game for a multitude of different reasons. I also can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be so I certainly have a lot of respect for anyone who does that job. I also want to make clear I think Rob does a good job despite getting a few players names wrong from time to time or missing some moments (that can happen to anyone) as he has a lot of different things he needs to focus on at the same time. He also has a good radio voice (Woking's Ian Nicholson could send a glass eye to sleep
). However the reason for this post is I find it rather annoying he seems to appear to think he is above some other people with his comments. He will usually drop in to commentaries about how he's travelled from Cambridgeshire for games (well done?) like he expects some special praise for doing so and then this evening after the game he invited two 11-year-old boys on air to give their thoughts on the match. It was their first game on their own together to see The Shots. It's important to note he knows their Aunt Becky however I thought he was very patronising towards them. Despite the fact they answered every question asked of them (names and ages, where they watched the game from and their MOTM) and the fact he obviously wasn't listening to their answers as he misheard who they gave their MOTM to he said to end the interview: "Next time boys come ready with your opinions loaded. You can't stand there and have me interview you and you not have any opinions, so we'll brush on that next time alright." I just felt like he needlessly humiliated two young boys for absolutely no reason at all and I just hope the fact he belittled them in front of people who were still tuned in listening doesn't affect them too badly. Very disappointing and unprofessional from Rob.

Attendance: 2,685 (116 Away)
Does anyone know previous home attendances on Non-League Day and if adds many more to the gate figure usually?

Seriously, if you think a draw was a good or fair result you need to give your head a massive wobble. That was a truly awful team which my dog with a busted acl could have beaten on her own.
Pathetic result.

Didn't really expect us to get anything from the games as I said beforehand. Even more so when you went 1-0 & 2-1 ahead. So even a point was pleasing.
An even 1st half which we obviously just edged. You had the better of the 2nd half and could have nicked it with a couple of decent chances but actually had to rely on our defenders raised arm to save you a point.
May still see you next season, but I think you should be safe as surely you can get the 5 or 6 points you may need from your remaining fixtures especially with the teams goalscoring capabilities.
You have a decent bunch of supporters as well & like our supporters who have continued to get behind the team despite our poor performances ( I know we aren't that far from you, but 116 of ours wasn't bad yesterday considering) you deserve better.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Still out of UK so listened to most of the match on the radio. Disappointing result maybe, but I was of the understanding before the game that Ebbsfleet needed a win to retain their NL status and anything else would mean pretty much it.
As such they played a raised game and perhaps we should have anticipated that a bit more?
I recall in 1987 being at Molineux to see Wolves play one of their best games of football in the relegation clash with Cardiff City. Despite the result (think Wolves won 4-2 or something like that) both sides went down to Division 4 (I think we know a bit about the next few years). You had to say though that if Wolves had played that well all season, they would not have been relegated. Point is that with so much at stake, Ebbsfleet knew they had to do something; they did, but it wasn’t enough.
We still talk about relegation on here. Possibility yes, but I think very remote now. I just cannot see all the teams below us all turning it round anymore than an ATFC collapse.

Yup, a very silly post from East Kent Shots!alanweufc wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 2:10 amThat awful that we put 3 goals past youEast Kent Shots wrote:Seriously, if you think a draw was a good or fair result you need to give your head a massive wobble. Pathetic result.. 2 sides whose defensive capabilities weren't exactly great shall we say
.

We've basically got another 3,000 home fans coming to that one.Charles Dickens wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 8:33 amYou may be right!
If we were playing Spennymoor would they be coming?
If this was another club, I suspect I know what people would call them.
