I think we've done good business by improving the defence for the remaining games. It will pay off.

Theo was OK but he always is when the opposition aren't bothered about pressing him. He played some good passes but he is incapable of receiving the ball in tight quarters; he never turns with it, just plays a wall pass.

After Tommy's comments on Tuesday it's obvious that he sees Theo as Tetek's equal ... otherwise why would he play Tetek, who was "running on empty" in a minor cup game rather than resting him for today? We just all have to put up with this, I'm afraid. We can all see that Tetek is our best central midfield player, by a mile, but all the manager will do is acknowledge that "the fans want me to play Tetek" but then not pick him for the most important matches so his son can be in the team.

I have noticed this on numerous occasions,Theo Widdrington cannot take the ball on the half turn (basic technique for any footballer) which results in many quick breaks failing because, as you say he only does wall passes sideways or backwards.Tetek is technically way above Theo widdrington and should have started today.Tommy said Dejan is running on empty but played him in a meaningless game on Tuesday then left him out today- on a purely footballing level it makes no sense.We also needed Ryan Jones today Frost (who I rate highly) kept checking inside when the game was screaming for him to go past their Right-hand defender,they were there for the taking today and again we blew it. IMO replacing Widdrington for Tetek and Ryan Jones for Frost would have made the difference. Another two points dropped, relegation a real and increasing threat.Just watched the Grandstand clip posted on another thread showing the score coming in on vidiprinter Burnley 0 Aldershot 1 - oh to be back in the Football league but sadly can't see it happening under the present board,we are stagnant in that department which is a shame as it's the most vital position to us moving forward.Where has the 5 year plan gone ,where is the vision,where is the drive ,where is the communication?

thought everyone did well today. Dewhurst made some very good saves late on to prevent disaster, thought Armitage was outstanding and Woodhouse obviously very good winning balls in their box. Having two proper defenders at the back is night and day compared to what we've been seeing to this point, it's like a different team. Olly Scott good, too. Theo's best game for ages as well, played with his head up.

The only challenge I'd have is at wing back. I don't think AJ is fast or athletic enough to be a modern wing back and Tyler kept cutting in when their right back was there for the taking. So Ryan Jones on the left and Frost on the right might have been good. Otherwise can't fault anyone today, terrific performance.

Exactly. what we needed today was someone to come on with the skill to beat his man and unlock there defence like Ryan Jones, then put the more attacking Frost on his normal side to replace the steady Arron Jones.

I thought our midfield did ok but both Hargreaves and Theo are not passing midfielders both of them have a poor first touch, Tetek for me should start even if he can’t play every game, well he played Tuesday why not rest him then instead of today.

Should have won that especially how often we got the ball in there box but yet again we didn’t, need to start winning at home soon. You’d have thought Tommy would have said do not give silly throw ins away because of Tonks dangerous long throws and there physical presence from set pieces yet Arron Jones gives an easy throw away which he could have done a lot better with resulting in there 1st goal.

Disgraceful that this club don’t see the use of ballboys,,, there’s enough kids shouting in the stands, can’t blame opposing clubs ambling to the corner flags to retrieve the ball. We really don’t help our players efforts to try and win games

Always amazed when we don’t have ball boys, especially for a Saturday game.

There’s LOADS of schools and youth football clubs around, youngsters would be queuing up to get involved.

Those who were shouting and swearing at the young steward standing by the gate in the Eastbank for not getting the ball back on a few occasions, it’s not his job!
There’d be outrage if he moved to get the ball then home fans piled through the unattended gate!

Just looking at the table and there’s only three teams that have won fewer games than us - absolutely pathetic. Patting the management team on the back for an unbeaten run that leaves us in perilous danger is equally pathetic. Draws aren’t enough - 3 points is all that matters and we’re not picking up enough.

Disappointing result again, getting frustrating that we often start playing after we've conceded.

I still strongly believe we need to reconsider playing Barrett and Henry in the same team. We lack any sort of ability to hold the ball up, and I think playing Stuttle or Bray (when fit) alongside Barham would help us to concede fewer goals as we'd keep hold of the ball better. Glad to see Barham get his goal considering he's been chasing lost causes for most of the season.

Really like the look of the two young centre backs, and think we've got a good amount of defensive options now.

Desperate to put together a winning run. I don't think we're too far off but do believe we are underperforming team that isn't making the best use of our available squad.

So far we've been fortunate that none of the bottom four of five have put any kind of run together but history tells us that it's quite likely to happen soon. Maidenhead for example are masters at putting a few results together when least expected. Averaging a point a game is not going to get us out of trouble. The players are working hard enough in matches but I can't help thinking that the management are not using our resources in the best way possible.
