195 tickets for us at Sittingbourne!
Re: 195 tickets for us at Sittingbourne!
I expect it is, Jason, but my post was more a comment on FP giving us a very limited snippet of information that apparently he knows all about. Liken it if you will to a Shotswebber just posting on here that ‘We’ve signed a player’ and leaving it at that. No further information, just a ‘you go and find out the rest’. If you have information like that then to me it’s a common courtesy to other Shotswebbers to put more details on show.

Fair point. My mind probably glossed over the fact that he hadn't provided more detail, as I had already seen the information.Birdman wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 12:51 pmI expect it is, Jason, but my post was more a comment on FP giving us a very limited snippet of information that apparently he knows all about. Allows it to be streamed as the match will be over before the blackout....

It does seem strange that at the start of the season I and many others paid to join the clubs OFFICIAL supporters club, which runs coach travel, yet the priority seems to be with an unofficial party.Wanderer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:29 amOld Bob, as I have said above, the Away Travel Group are not official and yes ther are prepared to go to travel to away games (the name of the group is a bit of a giveaway), but they had the oppotunity to be affiliated to the club but they refused and said they wanted to be independent. If they agreed if would be difficult argue against them getting ticket priority but they refused.Old Bob wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 4:17 pm
I don't think they are "official", no. What they obviously are is supporters who are prepared to travel to away games. Good luck to them if the Club chooses to make a small allocation to the season ticket holders among them.
I am bemused by the apparent idea that it’s OK to prioritise ST holders but not if they are also members of the Away Travel Club. That makes no sense.
Of course season ticket holders should get priority, it is mentioned in the sales pitch that being a season ticket holder will give you prioriry in games where there is limited tickets, it does not say that you have priority but will have to wait your turn behind unofficial other groupings.
If that's the case, maybe next season it's wise to switch where I send my membership money.

Oh dear. I didn't know that was the case, CH. That does seem quite wrong.CH wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 2:24 pmo

Do you know what I don't think I'd bother going even if I was drawn in the ballot . I go to football to go with mates ,as there is no chance of this happening I won't bother (not that I think I will get drawn )

Bit odd since the football club and supporters club have claimed that the Supporters Club is indeed "independent".CH wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 2:24 pmo

Sadly the support club doesn’t offer regular coach travel so the comment about them running coach is bit far fetched as only running one coach this season to Eastleigh were the shots away travel group run to all league and most cup games and is open to everyone as well.

This is where joined up thinking gets lost in the malaise of everything Aldershot. I don't certainly blame the supporters club in this.L.wfooty wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 3:28 pmCH wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 2:24 pmo

OK, so I revert to my original viewpoint. The Club are simply making a goodwill gesture to those ST holders who are known to travel to support the Shots. I cannot see anything wrong in that, even if it lessens my chances of getting a ticket.L.wfooty wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 3:28 pmCH wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 2:24 pmo

However, as I said “posted” in my post, it narrows it down to where I read it.
I will post links in future.

I fully suspect the time change is a police/safety thing. If not pure police, at least to get the big crowd out in daylight?
I think any talk of streaming is a bit unlikely. There is no contract/agreement in place - so that would need setting up commercially/technically. And then do Sittingbourne even have a camera position available. I doubt it.
