Open top bus tour details
Re: Open top bus tour details
I went last night and it was absolutely brilliant as a 'non-local' to see the whole town come out and support the club.
I find the negative posts and choosing not to be there a bit weird... winning the FA Cup is unlikely and winning the playoffs doesn't have the same build up or prestige or capture the imagination of the wider community in the same way that a cup final does. In reality, winning the FA Trophy final at Wembley is likely to be the pinnacle of the club's achievements and we will never win at Wembley for the first time again. Ever.
For me and the thousands present last night, the celebrations will live long in the memory - probably the first and possibly last time that the whole town will be unified in celebrating ATFC. The whole atmosphere was incredible. Hopefully though we can capitalise on this moment and our club will become something for the town to celebrate and be proud of. Up the Shots!

Just a shame all the people who have passed away in recent missed out but sadly that’s the way it goes!

Yes, I still don't understand the negativity, mostly I guess from those that didn't attend last night. I went to the last open bus tour and it was nothing like last night where all communities came together as one in the town. It was great to witness and also to see the Nepalese community both at Wembley and last night out to join the celebrations. As a club we must now harness this incredible support and so great to see the beauty and strength of football in bringing the local community together, The club is the jewel in the crown of Aldershot and hope the MP and Council help us progress,

This 100%. As mentioned in a previous post, we have Victoria Day coming up soon. Always has a good attendance. Get a stall there with the Trophy and offer fans the chance to grab a photo/arrange a competition to win merch or match tickets etc.Alf W wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 6:19 pm Yes, I still don't understand the negativity, mostly I guess from those that didn't attend last night. It just goes to show the potential that this club has & I hope this opens the eyes to everyone, what the club can achieve. The fans will back the team if they are willing to put in the hard graft.![]()

Marketing could really work wonders with a vastly reduced season ticket offer with main aim of sub 3k attendances... As long as there is an exciting attacking squad.. may well start something..

I am not the most positive person Alex, but I find it rather extraordinary that at a time of one of the Club’s greatest achievements (including AFC 1926) you still don’t seem happy.Alex wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 4:52 pmSome things just aren’t for everyone.Weybourne Shot wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 12:10 pmWe absolutely did Alex and we made memories that will last a lifetime, what a shame you couldn't join the thousands that saw something very special, an evening where we experienced a whole community coming together![]()
But again, I’m glad you had an enjoyable evening![]()
You have your reasons I realise, so I won’t say anymore.

I’m amazed that they didn’t have a season ticket offer ready to capture the good feeling after Wembley.Reg's corner wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 7:07 pm Marketing could really work wonders with a vastly reduced season ticket offer with main aim of sub 3k attendances... I was equally amazed at seeing the club shop firmly closed last night whilst street traders sold flags and horns hands over fist.

Have to agree somewhat. I've never had an interest in the FA Trophy before and I don't really understand the excitement. That said, any chance to beat Woking at a packed Rec and go to Wembley means it's certainly been special this year.
Have to wonder why we haven't got to a final before, and what our future determination will be to win the cup.

2008 was for me anyway a massive wasted opportunity when we got done by Ebbsfleet in the semifinals just before we clinched the league title!CornishShot wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 10:53 pmHave to agree somewhat. Season ticket is very strange - wasn’t info meant to be released last week?NTR_12 wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 10:17 pmI’m amazed that they didn’t have a season ticket offer ready to capture the good feeling after Wembley.Reg's corner wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 7:07 pm Marketing could really work wonders with a vastly reduced season ticket offer with main aim of sub 3k attendances... The club shop comment has caused some debate on Facebook. Basically the staff and volunteers have been working very long hours the past week or two and are exhausted. Let them have a night off to celebrate.
Plus I imagine there are some logistics to consider - would we have needed more staff or security given how many people showed up (they’d need paying), do we have enough stock left over? And what if we’d made all these arrangements and lost? People would be kicking off about wasting money.
