No one said it didn't matter you little dweeb.Aldershot wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 10:39 pmSo if the FA Trophy doesn't matter why bother going today?Martin Patfield wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 10:35 pmI'll reiterate Alex's point. It's the FA Trophy FFS.
League win or gaining promotion, maybe more important and warranting it.
Having some parade for the fa trophy is a bit much ffs

Well said!willberto02 wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 10:46 pm Great chance to build on the feel good factor from today.
Lets not forget - the FA Trophy is the FA Cup for non-league football, so winning this competition is a major achievement!
Winning the league is a bigger milestone, but behind that, winning the FA Trophy at Wembley as a National League side is as big as it gets - the fans and the players/staff absolutely deserve the open top bus.
I agree it would have been more convenient to have it next weekend, but I'm guessing the players/staff will be wanting to head off on their holidays as they only have a limited amount of time before next season starts

The club has won a bit of silverware for the first time in its combined 99 x year history which comes from the governing body of English football; the FA.
Guess you have your reasons to consider it not very important, but I do rather think it is something to celebrate and I would think any other club who win it would probably feel the same.

The club has won plenty of silverware in the past, and I would rank winning the Conference and promotion to the Football League in '08 as a higher achievement than winning today.Aldershot wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:54 pmSpot on Tim!Fuggletim wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:48 pmThe club has won a bit of silverware for the first time in its combined 99 x year history which comes from the governing body of English football; the FA.Martin Patfield wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 10:35 pm

Most people would but it doesn't mean we can't celebrate these players who have made history not achieved before by either Aldershot FC or Aldershot Town. Guess it wouldn't be Shotsweb without people moaning or complaining even after winning the FA Trophy at Wembley!Turnkey wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 12:05 amThe club has won plenty of silverware in the past, and I would rank winning the Conference and promotion to the Football League in '08 as a higher achievement than winning today.Aldershot wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:54 pmSpot on Tim!Fuggletim wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:48 pm

It’s not moaning or complaining.

Continuation of the feel good factor can only enhance future supporters engagement and commercial sponsorship realisation.
Also at the EBB Lounge after so a fantastic evening for everyone concerned who can go

I'm still buzzing. Winning at Wembley tops everything I've seen with Aldershot. We've been starved of any success in the last 12 years so let's enjoy it.

bbc weather says it'll be a nice evening despite rain during the day so that's good. It's a bit gloomy at the moment.

That was the promotion winning side, 1972-73 they went 'round all the local schools in an open top. There should be a few on here who remember it.

For me, this is right up there with the other big days in the club's history. Yeaterday I achieved one of the few things on my life's bucket list just by being there. The fact we won, but also the way we won, made it even more special. Of course I would have liked us to be more competitive in the league but this still goes down as one of the 2 or 3 best seasons in the club's history and the players have earned the right to the bus tour. And I think us long-suffering fans have as well!!
