Re: Match thread v Yeovil
Tommy has confirmed he’ll be holding talks around players future with the team on Thursday. Bad timing?
Why not wait until next week.

Unquestionably the best player at the club in my view. Such a shame he’s so injury prone.

Agreed Though I still don’t think he’s 100% match fit yet and do worry every time he falls overShots Fired wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 8:36 pmUnquestionably the best player at the club in my view. Such a shame he’s so injury prone.
Well played Shots for a long awaited win which will set us up nicely for next week. Should be a great day out win or even lose let’s hope we man up against the more physical and experienced northern team and let our passing game take over on a decent surface.

A better side would have had the game sewn up at half-time with the chances they had.Charles Dickens wrote:A win and still some continue to complain, after a bad run what do they expect?
A decent workout for Wembley.
Tommy Widdrington got the tactics right and made good use of the subs.
Hope Cam will be ok,if not Tetek will be a good substitute.

A strange game to say the least. 10 minutes of madness in the first half and we could have been 3-1 down at half time. Dewhurst was erratic to say the least with his kicking and distribution but much of it was due to the bobble and state of the pitch. It really does need some serious investment during the summer.Steve Melledew wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 8:42 pmAgreed Though I still don’t think he’s 100% match fit yet and do worry every time he falls overShots Fired wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 8:36 pmUnquestionably the best player at the club in my view. The tackle on Hargreaves’s by Cooper from behind doesn’t look good and hope he will be ok for the final ?
Spenneymore would have had their management staff watching and won’t have too many worries about us on that showing. They finished on a high and just missed out on the playoffs and will have had 15 days rest to prepare for Wembley. We have 6 days to prepare with 7 first team players out and 3 of them on crutches for today’s lap of honour.
I just hope out lot turn up and perform as Spenneymore now must be favourites if I was a betting man. One thing is for sure that maybe in our favour is that if we can play our passing game on a perfect pitch, we have a chance
It will be down to who wants it most and I just hope our lot don’t let down the 18000 that are backing them ! Good luck boys.

Re: Match thread v Yeovil
I felt that for the first 60 minutes bar a very bad 5 minute spell first half we were the better team but In that 5 minutes though we should have definitely been punished. We our selves were wasteful not so much with shooting like but the final pass often being weak and slowed down by the long grass. Once Yeovil pulled it back to 2-1 they looked more likely to get the next goal that fortunately never came. The the whole it ended up being a relatively even game, Yeovil should have got something but obviously I’m glad they didn’t.

If the cut is on his Achilles, Cam won't feature next week.. Achilles injuries are notoriously bad for any form of impact sport.

Good on you Charlie! Seems like there are some people who not only can't enjoy the game themselves, but don't want anyone else to enjoy it either.Charles Dickens wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 10:24 pmYou are right, I did clap and was also very happy.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 8:57 pmSssssshhhhhh steve don't cloud the issue we won ,clap clap and be happy .

Well I enjoyed it. Theo had a good game I thought. Tetek made the difference when he came on.

Tetek is class....like Chislett was when he played a similar role. Always has time on the ball and the brain to use it well
And tho' Theo is never going to be a Premiership player, he's an honest journeyman who mostly does a decent job for us.
Does he have faults? Of course - that's why he'll never be in the Premiership
But can he do anything about who his father is? No.
Re: Match thread v Yeovil
Regarding your last point, that's not the question, is it? The question is: can his father do anything about who he selects to play in midfield? And the answer is obviously yes. It's his job.latimeralder wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 9:16 amSpot on, Banbury ShotBanbury Shot wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 8:57 am Well I enjoyed it. Theo had a good game I thought.
