Looking at the original video of the sending off it definitely looked like the incident was a rather over-dramatic reaction by Widderington to a coming together by forward and defender. Now having seen this it looks like Beautyman caught Widderington in the throat area with his forearm. Did Widderington make a meal of it? Most definitely but imo it puts a different complexion on the sending off. Fast forward this video to around 5:30 (make the screen bigger) :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE6e6PQ2AdU&t=2s

and the crucial part is that, at your 5:30 moment, look at the ref! He's staring straight at them - unobstructed - and blows immediately! He sees what the camera does not.Birdman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:36 pm Looking at the original video of the sending off it definitely looked like the incident was a rather over-dramatic reaction by Widderington to a coming together by forward and defender. Case closed, I think.

Famous last words - the red card has been overturned.

Proof Theo is a cheat… I trust he will be banned now for the final and not selected for the league game…

Golgo.....unfortunately it is not proof as you claim. I, like many others believe Widdrington overreacted but there clearly was contact which the ref misinterpreted as a sending off offence.

Fair enough.
I am still convinced Beautyman raised his arm to "shrug off" Theo as you see his hand appear to the left of Theo, but it still doesn't look anything like a red.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the FA did this just to get Woking to shut up. Being the sort of the club they are, I’m sure they wouldn’t have stopped crying to the FA until they got their way.

Some sass with that “as expected” line. Is that really a professional response in a news article?

Will the release a statement about their club captain stamping on a fan?

There's really clear footage taken from the Woking section of their player stamping twice on the idiot being restrained. I'm pretty sure that will find its way to the local plod and he could find himself in a spot of bother.
EDITED to replace 'fan'
