I thought Hartlepool shaded the game - they were big, organised and a threat going forward, although we had something they didn't - Barrett's flair and inventive passing, even if not everything he tried came off.

Their keeper was the player most responsible for their downfall - not great for either our first or second goals.
I must have watched a different game to you then, yes the first half was poor but the second half alone I thought we fully deserved the victory

Highlights.

Not sure Mullins can claim the first one, definitely seemed to cannon off the knee of the Hartlepool defender.
Our winner looks tight. Jack looks straight for the flag when the ball hits the net!

Their equaliser - definite foul in the build-up but appears we didn’t play to the whistle.

Will let the ref off as he allowed us to play in the first place and we won but that was a bad miss from him.

Maybe Mullins didn't put that away after all. Still think Jack was offside. But everything that can go wrong on the pitch has gone wrong so we were due a bit of luck.

Just watching back on dazn and it was a pretty relentless pace second half. Fair play to them for giving it everything.

Question, is Hugo's record better than Tommy's in the last comparable amount of league games played ?

I was very surprised at the pace of the game particularly as the soft ground must of sapped their legs.

I think we looked fitter than Pools in the second half one or two of their players looked like they were struggling to cope with the end to end nature of the game
and Richard Walden puts the Shots 1-0 up against Man Utd

I’ve got no stats on this either but it feels like we win more games when TW isn’t in the dugout.

First goal definite own goal, sorry Max.

Two good saves from Dewhurst.

100% a clear two hand push albeit a soft push on Woodhouse for the equaliser.

Barham should have had at least a hat trick if not 4.

No way of telling if our winner was offside. With no one marking him, Barham had so much space to time his run and drop in behind them. At the time it felt like he was offside but to be honest I was watching where the ball was.

Well we can't complain about a home win no matter how and what time the goals were scored 👌let's keep it going and get out of this mess at the wrong end of the table 👍

When Barham received the ball he was in an offside position. However, at the moment the ball was kicked to him he wasn’t.

No, he has been taken ill again
Incorrect! Idiot!!
Someone has quoted Hugo as saying he was resting at home. Are they wrong?
At the end of the 28min interview with Stray Shots I watched on Thursday (the interview seems to have disappeared) the last few minutes were with Tommy who praised the Stray Shots for all their efforts to get here. Tommy was in top form laughing and joking with the Strays and I feel sure Tommy said he was looking forward to seeing them at the match. One reason given for Tommy's absence yesterday was that he was advised not to attend due to if the result had gone badly wrong for us things might well have turned ugly and Tommy would be better off out of it.

What I meant was from the highlights you can’t tell because you can’t see him. In real time was more focused on Frost than Jack’s movement, by the time I noticed him he was all alone just waiting for the cross to land on his head.
Thankfully for us Hartlepool’s no.3 had a stinker, own goal, chasing shadows as Hargreaves hammered home and finally too busy ball watching to notice Jack.

This is the issue. Frost crossed from a deeper angle so very hard to us to have been able to see both frost and Barham at the same time. Same goes for the linesman as well of course. I remain suspicious as usually someone unmarked and onside is there because someone didn't push up in time, but here they had already pushed out when Frost initially got the ball and seemed to be moving back towards goal when the cross came in. But we can't know. At the time I didn't even celebrate because it seemed so obviously off. But I could be wrong. The history books will say that it was a goal and that's what matters.

Counterpoint. Easy thing for linesman to do would've just been to just flag (I'm sure most would've) and the fact he didn't suggests that maybe he did see something that made him sure, e.g defender playing Barham onside that the rest of us missed.

But also, Barham 100% looks straight at the linesman expecting a flag.
