Aldershot Town 3-2 Hartlepool United - Saturday 22nd February 2025 (Match Day Thread)
Re: Aldershot Town v Hartlepool United - Saturday 22nd February 2025 (Match Day Thread)
A pitch inspection will take place this evening upon the availability of a local qualified official.
With recent postponements in mind, and with rain forecast from this afternoon, the club have spoken with the match official and Hartlepool United and organised a local referee to inspect the pitch at the earliest possible opportunity. This is in order to provide an indication on the condition of the pitch ahead of the day of the match, and provides extra time should any action be required.
The outcome of the pitch inspection will be communicated as quickly as possible.

Absolutely pathetic beyond belief, hardly any rain in the last fortnight, what an embarrassment of a club we really are

So a local referee is going to have a look to “provide an indication on the condition of the pitch”? Do we really have nobody, within the club or contractor, with some modicum of expertise who can advise on the condition? Is everyone sitting up in corporate just looking out of the window? Surely the Fylde referee told the club exactly why he deemed the pitch unplayable so it must be quite simple to see whether it’s better/same/worse. This will be another pass the buck/blame the referee situation if it gets called off.Aldershot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 2:05 pm A pitch inspection will take place this evening upon the availability of a local qualified official.

At this rate we’ll be playing someone’s kids at 3 o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon in that
end cup followed by a rearranged league game about 3 hours later in the same evening

Last night a local referee inspected the pitch and deemed the pitch unplayable as things stand. There will now be a further pitch inspection at 10:30am.

I see that Farnham Town v Leatherhead will also be having a pitch inspection (at 10am) following the overnight rain.

If the match is off today we could be 5 points adrift and drop a place down the league. This is going to cost us our NL place if we can't play matches.

After some big efforts this morning, the pitch inspection has been passed and we are on!
Surely if a club down the road at a lower level can pass their pitch inspection there is no excuse for our game to be called off?

Today's clash with Hartlepool United at the EBB Stadium is ON.
Our Match Official has conducted a pitch inspection and has deemed the pitch playable.
We'd like to thank our Ground Staff and Volunteers for their hard work in helping to get today's game on.
