Guildford City into a top non league club how did that go and why in the last
month have you been posting how bad we are. Are you getting set to try
a takeover ????.

Back to the topic of the thread, I hope there is some kind of pitch inspection and communication today. Hartlepool is a bloody long way away and it is only couteous to their fans to prevent them from setting off. Then again, Fylde is not exactly close.

I have not bothered to book tickets in advance using the early bird pricing as I usually do as I cannot be arsed to have to apply for a refund again. My confidence in the club to handle any communication around any pitch inspection is rock bottom and if there is sand all over the pitch I have strong doubts the game will go ahead anyway.

yeah we'll 100% know today I think. Hopefully the ref has had a good briefing on our current situation so he's not rocking up at 1130 tomorrow and being startled at the combo of sand and puddles.

They can't get caught out a third time no matter what surprises mother nature has in store for Aldershot.

No Steve, I'm not mad enough to take the club on  It needs young blood!

Seriously, the current incumbents need to be given some slack here, the way the economy has tanked, it must be very difficult for the developer to make the numbers work to initiate the initial phase 1 ground development.

With respect to the pitch I feel for the club and grounds team, as any consequential money spent rectifying is money not accounted for.

With regards to Guildford City I went in to help the lead guy. A club with very good people in Barry Underwood, David Knight and Kevin Parker and a host of helpers.

I got planning and we put in 1000 seats and tidied up the ground, the biggest problem was the pitch and we spent 10k the first full season trying to give the players an acceptable pitch to play on.

Went a couple of times when you were there. Who was the idiot in the stand always slagging off the players?

The best games I’ve seen this season have been on 3/4g pitches at Worthing and Chichester so no negatives from me on them,,,, there fine at this level. Far better than what’s there now and at Woking for that matter

With the rain that's on its way, this game won't go ahead.

No rain forecast after early hours of sat morning surely there has to be a chance of it being on after all we've had nearly two weeks of dry weather!!

I would agree but I don't think this pitch is draining at all. If we get the heavy rain that's forecast later on today then it's likely there'll be standing water at the time of the inspection. The club aren't going to risk another late postponement after all the flak they've got recently.

If this game is called off then we won’t finish the season! Would be absolutely ridiculous.
