They are seriously underperforming like Eastleigh. But commercially doing exceptionally well since the change in ownership.abee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:05 pmBrian was talking playing budget I presume.margateshot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 11:57 amSouthend attendances are nearly 3 times more than ours for starters. Then take replica shirt sales etc and it soon mounts up.
If ours is say £800k then he's suggesting that Southend's is £2m. I don't believe it.
If they really have that sort of playing budget then their team management is seriously underperforming.

I would stick with Tommy who saved us from a worse relegation position season before last and generated the club between £0.75-1m additional income last season and some unforgettable times.
Tommy is confident his team can avoid the drop and the lads responded last night with a gritty display against a team backed by over 6,000 fans.

Don't worry mate still go along for a moan no matter what league.Reg's corner wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 10:46 pm The season morphs into a relegation fight now. A loss at sittingbourne will send everyone into further spirals of negativity. Perish the thought .

And Sittingbourne did what we couldn't do last night, score and win.Ex Attendant wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:59 pmDon't worry mate still go along for a moan no matter what league.Reg's corner wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 10:46 pm The season morphs into a relegation fight now. Admirable Alf and credit to you. We still lost though mate. It doesn't seem to matter if performances are gritty, or dreadful, constant nil points all round and round and round.... equates to an almost inevitable fate.Alf W wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:54 pm I would stick with Tommy who saved us from a worse relegation position season before last and generated the club between £0.75-1m additional income last season and some unforgettable times.

For what it's worth, I also wish that Tommy had been successful. There was so much to like last year, but the things we turned a blind eye too while things were good, now look frankly ridiculous. More importantly, irreversible.

Is anyone on here a member of the Supporters Club?ShotOnTarget wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:25 pmDefinitely what's needed but I believe that the overall suggestion that the BoD/Club could be reinforced from talent within the fan base will go down like a cup of cold sick. There have been decades where this could have been a winning strategy (there have been offers of quality help to my knowledge, and they were likely not the only ones) so why would it be considered now?abee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:03 pm Yippee re Brian's '......things they could do'
This is what I've been banging on about for the past few weeks. The real issue is the hubris of the main board where they clearly believe that Messrs Azeem, Leppard and Wood are the best and only people to run the club (I was tempted to add 'into the ground'). They are not and there is a lot of wasted talent possibly available within the support base. The board needs help but are too suspicious of the fan base to seek it. The Supporters Club needs to get energised, start living up to its Mission Statement and are probably the best entity to approach the chairman and board to ask 'Are you happy with everything on and off the field? We assume not and this is how we can help'.
They then present a list of possible starters based upon Brian's 'things they could do'.
I can confidently say from experience that numbers 3,4,5,6,9,10 can mostly be done from working at home and any takers would not have to be at the ground every day after say the first two weeks.
If so why not remind them of their Mission Statement which includes the following goals which surely are relevant to the current situation
Mission Statement
The key aims of the Supports (sic I assume they mean Supporters) Club are to:
• Work in partnership with Aldershot Town Football Club to ensure its viability and success (my highlight)
• Represent Aldershot Town FC supporters and ensure that their voice is heard in decisions affecting the Club
The Supporters Club are working to achieve these aims by:
• Providing a link between the supports (sic I assume they mean supporters) and Aldershot Town Football Club
• Liaising with Club representatives to ensure that the Supporters Club is well informed and consulted about key issues affecting Aldershot Town Football Club and is able to offer support whenever practicable (my highlight)
• Ensuring that members receive information and are consulted regularly about the
Supporters Club and matters affecting the future of Aldershot Town Football Club
• Using the Supporters Club’s influence in the best long-term interests of Aldershot Town Football Club and its supporters
As an aside someone at the club must read this stuff because they've now spelt 'football' correctly on the official website hospitality link!!
Re: When can we expect the announcement?
He's not going anywhere, the club gave him a long-term extension in the summer so it would cost a fortune.
I got shot down in flames for suggesting they were taking a risk with that contract.
