Personally I think the club should announce when the draw is taking place and allow those that want to or able to attend to witness it, but I doubt the club would want that, if you had it in the lounge they could even sell a few drinks

Probably make sense for the game to be switched to a neutral venue with safer capacity or hold at the Rec..

I agree with what I assume to be the sentiment here - everyone naturally thinks the ticket allocation should be done in a way that favours them personally. I have no chance of getting a ticket, but I have to accept that I haven't done enough to warrant one.Old Bob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 8:07 pm Given how few tickets we are getting, I think priority should go those who: are over 75 years old, have had a season ticket for more than 25 seasons, who were actually born in Kent, whose wife was born in Kent, who said even before the draw they wanted Sittingbourne away, who frequently posts a load of bollox on Shotsweb, who thinks it's a mistake to view football as a business, who's a patronising pedant. You know it makes sense

Consulting Shotsweb would be an unworkable way to make a decision. They have shown clear leadership and communication on this occasion, and we just have to accept that they run the club and we don't.Wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 7:15 pmAnother example of how this hasn't been thought through properly by the club, as I have said above there are a number of steps that could have allowed a much fairer way of distributing tickets.Weybourne Shot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 6:28 pm How many of our season ticket holders are under 16? Surely they can't be entered into this ballot as it stands? My 12 year old grandson who has a season ticket won't be going on his own that's for sure
Perhaps they should have asked us first to give them some ideas of how the distribution should have been done.

This seems to be an awful lot of furore around tickets for a competition most people at the start of the season say is a waste of time, and we should bin off, you know, all the comments that are reserved for the NL Cup. I’d wager if there was no restriction on tickets we wouldn’t have taken anywhere near 200 for what seems a pretty unattractive day out, but now it appears everyone wants to go.
Re: 195 tickets for us at Sittingbourne!
This could have serious ramifications for Sittingbourne. 1,300 is below the required capacity for Step 4, never mind Step 3 where they hope to be next season. Previously it would indubitably have been swept under the carpet but with unified ground grading kicking in, and potentially mass relegations on the basis of failed ground gradings, this season The Brickies may have a major problem looming.

Step 4 is minimum of 1300 which is what they have. If they go up it is 1950 and have til 31 March I think to prove that which I am sure they will.Roger D wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 9:03 am This could have serious ramifications for Sittingbourne. 1,300 is below the required capacity for Step 4, never mind Step 3 where they hope to be next season. Mass hysteria…remember the Cabbage Patch doll shortage.Turnkey wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 9:00 am This seems to be an awful lot of furore around tickets for a competition most people at the start of the season say is a waste of time, and we should bin off, you know, all the comments that are reserved for the NL Cup. Seriously, outside of the remaining 8, nobody gives a toss about this competition. I honestly thought some of the postings on here were tongue-in-cheek, but apparently not so.

Re: 195 tickets for us at Sittingbourne!
There arn't many cases of away ties in the FA Trophy where the away numbers have been given, the only cases are last season when we were away Eastleigh and Bishop's Stortford in the early rounds, both unattractive like Sittingbourne but the away support at both was over 400.Turnkey wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 9:00 am This seems to be an awful lot of furore around tickets for a competition most people at the start of the season say is a waste of time, and we should bin off, you know, all the comments that are reserved for the NL Cup. I await your retraction.

I'm desperate to get to Wembley so would love to win this competition

My comment was slightly tongue in cheek, but many years ago when Shotsweb was a much more civilised place, I can remember the club asking for ideas.MikeB wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:14 amConsulting Shotsweb would be an unworkable way to make a decision. The thing that annoys me most is the Away Travel Group being given precedence over other season tickets holders. Many years ago they used to be two coaches going to away games, one run by the club and the other by the Away Travel Group. The club wanted to merge the two and create economies of scale and help make money for the club.
The Away Travel Group refused and said they wanted to remain independent. We move forward a number of years and now this renegade group, who wanted nothing to do with the club officially, suddenly have preferential treatment on away tickets over many other supporters who have watch as many games.
I believe in fairness and if I don’t receive a ticket in a fair ballot I can accept this, but can you explain why a group that is independent should suddenly receive precedence over other supporters?
Also I don’t think they have shown clear leadership and communication, the away draw at Sittingbourne has caught them on the hop and they have come up with a quickly thought out idea, it is obvious they have no protocols in place to deal with this type of situation.
