There is no hard evidence, but that doesn’t definitively say that something is going on behind the scenes, or indeed isn’t. However, the way the PL seem to dominate football interests in the UK, does anyone seriously think they are only getting involved in something purely from the “goodness” of their heart? I

What evidence was there for scrapping FA Cup replays? They just did it. The invention of these fake cup competitions is enough evidence for me that they want their kids to play against professional men’s teams. Entering a league is the inevitable next step.
Good analysis, Mytshot. I think you have sussed this one right.
Analysis based on hearsay, rumour and speculation and not hard evidence and fact is not good analysis, I thought you may have understood that OB.
Oh bugger! I have just spent half an hour composing a careful email setting out 7 HARD FACTS and 4 direct inferences from those facts to answer you, Turnkey. When I came to submit it, I found I had been logged out. Shotsweb then helpfully threw my half-hour's work away when I logged back in.

I'm buggered if I am going to enter it all again. I'll simply have to say that I have plenty of ammunition to refute your charge. Take it or leave it.

I’m not sure if there’s enough capacity left on Shotsweb for another of your intimate lectures, OB. :)

I can’t take it if it’s not there Bob, that’s not how evidence led investigations work here. This isn’t the good ‘ole US of A’ where ‘trust me, bro’ is seen as hard fact.

Quite right, Turnkey. I am with you 100%. It's just that having spent time composing a carefully thought-out reply only to see it disappear into the ether ... PUFF! ... I haven't got the (instant) karma to start over and repeat the whole sad episode.

What we are clashing swords over here is FOOTBALL. A sport. An entertainment. It's not that important set against things like the awful murder of those sweet, innocent little girls in Southport or the stupidity of electing to power a total Rsole like Trump. So if you want to criticise me for my posts on the simple and harmless recreation of watching football, do please carry on.

I'm going to get on with enjoying my Friday evening with a post-dinner coffee and glass of brandy.

Have a great Friday evening yourself, and I hope you enjoy tomorrow's match.

I have not desire to clash swords with anyone over any matter, I just enjoy civilised debate and you are one of the few and far between on here that can be had with. I understand your frustration that your, I’m sure, well constructed riposte has had its electrons diverted for another purpose, if should you wish to continue this discourse at a later more convenient time, I’d be happy to oblige.

I too wish you a pleasant evening and likewise an enjoyable afternoon tomorrow.

This...

PL clubs would only be pursuing this competition and the associated payments to NL club if there was an ulterior motive. I think they could have scrapped FA Cup replays without the 'donations' because they know how to make the FA roll over. So why?? What's their endgame?? B teams will be among us soon.

I

think old Bob what your trying to say is. It's all about opinions. ( I also liked your deflection tactic using other incidents )

The premier league if we like it or not is the richest and most powerful football league in the world. What tends to happen is the rich and powerful succeed it's called Capitalism
Sport if we like it or not is funded by the rich and powerful. So yes boycott don't go, protest, it means nothing. For every protester ten will take your place (though you may feel better for it ). It is no longer the 1970s times have to change, as they did in the 70s compared to the 50s. What's more women are now massive contributors to football. In this instance for this competition Mr Azeem got it right....Now I don't normally say that !

Sorry Bob but looks to me that Turnkey is right, he's not argued or slated you. You based your reply on your opinion not facts ( unless you do it again so we can see). You normally belittle the rest of us for that.....Come on Bob I am starting to use more than one full stop again )

More women may well be INVOLVED in football but very few actually CONTRIBUTE in any meaningful way.

If we like it or not trigger, there are more women watching live than in the 80s and 90s . As for women's football, I am with Alex.no comment.
