Tommy is not perfect. He has flaws. if he didnt he would be managing in the Football League.

But he is an absolute leader, and the management team he has built is many times more enjoyable/successful than most of our previous combinations.

He would admit the last 10 months have not shown all the results he would have wanted/deserved. But thats sport. It cant always go your way.

As a pragmatist I would take his style of football every day of the week, it remains top drawer entertainment for the budget he has been given.

Yes, he is stubborn. Yes he has a blindspot for Theo, Yes he likes to challenge and talk directly to the fans. Its not always nice to hear or indeed appropriate. He is the "alpha male" style leader, and that seems to be driving a style and degree of success.

When we look back on the seasons results, the worst run of 3 straight league defeats, will be written to coincide with the date of his double stroke. The FA trophy chapter of this season could yet be the headline.

I would love to be doing a Barnet/Forest Green or York. But my pockets dont reach so deep as to fund that! So meanwhile I will enjoy the value I get for my £20 every week. I continue to look forward to matches far more enthusiastically than I had for most of the prior 10 years.

Previously he was very agitated and seemed very annoyed and ‘stressed’ and this showed in his mannerisms especially the faces he pulled.

In the interview last night he appeared (to me) a lot calmer and far less facial dissatisfaction.

I'm glad GrahamH you've mentioned Tommy being completely different from before, I was thinking I was the only one to have noticed the change. Tommy has always shown a lot of passion in his interviews that was not apparent last night. Given time I'm sure we'll see the old Tommy back.

Maybe - and quite rightly appreciate we don’t know the full details of his health scare - we’d be better off seeing more of this new Tommy. I remember Warnock changing after his heart problems so maybe TW will follow suit.

I think a lot rides on the result this week for TW in terms of the fans support towards him

Good luck to Tommy. Though to be fair to Drewshot he is giving his opinion which he is fully entitled too.
I hope Tommy is talking the truth, still to many crazy decisions keep me in the middle about him. One win at Oldham and a home win over a young Fulham side does not mean we are " "out of the woods". When we are we must then take stock and look at our problems. There are many..

2. He has a swipe at fans. He says that Tetek is running on empty!

3. Quote 'Fans clamour for the team we should pick!" Pick your best players i.e. Dejan over your son
I'm on your side with regard to Theo being here / getting picked but your point 1 is unfair. He said to the interviewer "We've got through the group stage ...I think we're in the last eight, aren't we?" which does not indicate him being unsure as he had the facts right.

I have to admit I've lost faith in him this season. Far too many strange decisions, too many changes, too much complete lack of discipline. I think he should have gone before his health problems.
For me its going to be interesting for the next few games.
I'm afraid a lot has to change to make me think differently .

:I think the football has been ordinary this season with some very strange team selections. Hopefully he will pick the best 11 available and we can climb up the table and go deep in the trophy.

Would be extremely nice to justify the tremendous result at Oldham by defeating Tamworth on Saturday otherwise we’re back to square one

nice to see him back. The others don't seem to want to do these things and it shows. I think Tommy usually has something interesting to say and this was no different. I like watching him do his thing.

No matter how chummy or jovial TW comes across, 6 league wins from 27 and a relegation fight this season is not good enough. He should have been sacked way before his health issues appeared given the results and performances are nowhere near good enough.

I did think that TW looked reasonably chipper considering what he's been though and gave a good account of himself in his first interview back.

And what about his jacket? He could easily be in contention for the best dressed manager in the National League.
