It’s not an official game it’s absolute garbage
It may be garbage in your opinion as we hear so often but on what basis do you claim it is not an official game. There are so many aspects that make it official so I would be delighted to hear as to why you claim differently.

I think this cup has been a great addition. Pleased we've progressed and hopefully we can go all the way. Does anyone know where the final is?

They constantly moan about playing too many games then they invent this joke of a competition

This reminds me of the Setanta Shield. Nobody liked that at first but then we had some great entertainment en route to winning the final.

Is listed as part of the coaching team, maybe they had some injuries or knocks and were protecting players.

Remind me of our former goalkeeping coach whose actual playing days were well behind him and who turned out for us one evening in an Isthmian League Cup match because we didn’t have a fit ‘keeper available. I think that he would’ve been in his late 40’s. I’m sure that it was a home game against (iIrc) Bromley.

That would be Paul Priddy
and Richard Walden puts the Shots 1-0 up against Man Utd

It's a training session in the sense that no one cares about the end product. OK, there's money attached, but that's basically bribe money, put up by the PL to buy NL participation and get their Frankenstein Cup over the line.

I know a meaningless friendly cum training session when I see one.
Come off it Bob! A training session is totally different to a game. I know you don't like the competition but you cannot call it something it clearly is not. Whether there is money involved as you claim is irrelevant to the discussion.
I understand your point of view, Localshot, but I think you are far too accepting of this sham as equivalent to a real football match. It isn't. It's a charade. And what concerns me as much as anything is that 300 odd people were suckered into this mistake. It's not a meaningful, competitive football match, but a cynical attempt to get people to accept the PL's long-term agenda to feather their nests with a European Superleague and f**k domestic football.

When I say it's a training session, that's metaphorical. Of course it's not an actual training session. When Robert Burns says "My love is like a red, red rose", he's sure as hell not going to spray her with blackfly killer
