Dumbfeck cup, Frankenstein cup . You’re on form tonight OBOld Bob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:00 pmIt's a training session in the sense that no one cares about the end product. OK, there's money attached, but that's basically bribe money, put up by the PL to buy NL participation and get their Frankenstein Cup over the line.
I know a meaningless friendly cum training session when I see one.
In my humble opinion..Just saying

You may be correct but that does not mean it is a training session as our good friend said.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:32 pm
Testing the waters to slip 2 or 3 u21 sides into the conference in a season or 2

good win. Fulham strutting a bit to start with but ran out of gas. Shots played well and started to really pressure them. Could've had 5 first half, no bad misses but the ball just didn't fall quite right. Barham should've scored, Tetek's goal a big deflection. Second half more of the same, then they got one back off a poor Ryan Jones backpass and suddenly we were panicking a bit. Honestly should've been a comfortable win but whatever.
Dewhurst - solid as ever (edit: it was Jordi! He did fine)
Jenkins - looked good, one or two excellent tackles
Maghoma - super solid to be fair
Scott - also good, times jumps so well and a good footballer obvs
A.Jones - versatility is a strength, good tackle late on, I sometimes worry that he doesn't have the pace or craft to contribute going forwards but solid at the back
R.Jones - weird game, good moments and a few strange ones too.
Tetek - ran the game, absolute class. He looks sensational sometimes
Hargreaves - did his bit, didn't really rise above things or stand out but always involved. Nearly scored a wonder goal after the ball had been pinged around one touch from all kinds of weird angles but headed over the bar by a defender
Mullins - got better but didn't really stamp himself on the game. Better in the second half
Frost - you can imagine how he played, same as usual really, lots of energy, runs forward with the ball quickly, not quite there with final ball but a big threat
Barham - as per Frost, played exactly how he always does. Absolute menace in the first half with his closing down, but in playing at 100mph sometimes doesn't have the composure he needs but hard to criticise really
Subs: Stuttle did super well, continues nagging feeling that we're wasting this loan, Hayden Vaughan did okay, otherwise people didn't get much time tbf.

Whatever people think off the competition, I thought it was a competitive game against a technically competent Fulham U21 side who thrashed Arsenal U21 6-3 last week.
Luke Jenkins got valuable minutes and Haydon Vaughan also got some game time. Dejan Tetek was superb tonight -- he proved what a talent he is when he is allowed time on the ball.
Overall a good night- a welome boost to both funds and confidence.

Drawing United in the quarters might drag a few in
and Richard Walden puts the Shots 1-0 up against Man Utd
