Re: Ex-Player & Manager News - January 3rd onwards
Tommy said himself that we offered Cian an extension and he turned it down. He'd worked with Doyle before so can only assume that Woking made him a good offer and wanted to link up with him again.Birdman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:10 pmYou could well be right but the wording on the club’s announcement gave me the impression that he’d decided to leave. He had come in for quite a bit of stick at times in his one season here. No mention of an offer of a contract extension. I fully accept that it’s my interpretation.Bertie (WFC) wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 8:33 pmAbout to trigger a 1 year contract extension as a result of appearances this season
New manager plays flat back 4 and CH is more suited to 3/5 at the back
Turned down offer from you guys to join us so will be one of the higher earners at the club
Received a fee for him
So apart from the fact that we're going to be very light at the back tomorrow, it's good business all round in my opinion

I was critical of Harries last season, but I'd 100% prefer to have him over Maghoma!

Josh Stokes scored for Cambridge today - might be his first goal in the EFL?

A manikin would defend better than MaghomaRed hot shot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 12:09 pmTommy said himself that we offered Cian an extension and he turned it down. It was indeed his first EFL goal, assisted for the Cambridge second goal as well although I don't think he was credited for that.Melbourne Red wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:20 pm Josh Stokes scored for Cambridge today - might be his first goal in the EFL?

Can't be many sides left in the Wessex League that he's not played for!!! Looking at Statto's favourite website , he's now played for 24 clubs (including 3 loans) of which we were the 8th. We rank 3rd in that list in terms of number of appearances, behind Morecambe and Hereford.Triggers Broom wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:08 amHe does seem to appear on these threads once a month (Craig Stanley that is, NOT SteveyAsp!).

Nice research although I'm surprised it's only 24 clubs!chimpster99 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:43 amCan't be many sides left in the Wessex League that he's not played for!!!
