Wouldn’t it be nice if our club did this.
My local club Weymouth in dire straights at the bottom of National South keeping fans up to date with Squad news and there commitment to get out of it, Perhaps if we did there wouldn’t be such a chasm between the fans and the club at the moment.
Dear Supporters,
We want to keep you informed about the latest developments within our squad. As many of you know, Fareed Salifou, Gerard Benfield, and Jake Scrimshaw have left the club. Additionally, the loan trio of Billy Terrell, Jaiden Bartolo, and Christie Ward have returned to their parent clubs.
We are pleased to announce that Will Buse has extended his loan from Yeovil until the end of the season. Lloyd Thomas has also joined as backup to Will and played against Sturminster Newton in the Dorset Senior Cup.
Ibraham Mettie, who made his debut on Saturday, has joined us on non-contract terms, having previously worked under Warren at other clubs. We understand that some supporters may have concerns about his past. We want to assure you that we have conducted thorough due diligence and are working closely with Ibraham and his support team as he rebuilds his life. We urge you to judge him based on his performance on the pitch.
Our injured players are making steady progress. We hope to have Tom Bearwish and Andreas Robinson back soon, and Josh McQuoid is responding well to treatment. Charlie Rowan was assessed last night at training and will be monitored.
We remain fully committed to staying in the National League South and are working closely with Warren with additional funds to strengthen our squad. Despite our current standings, we are determined to turn things around. Last Saturday’s fighting performance is a testament to the team’s resilience and determination. Warren is working hard to add players who will make a difference, and we expect to provide a further update on the squad by early next week.
While there is no getting away from the fact that we are facing a big task to remain in the National League, rest assured, everyone at the club is still united in our quest for survival.
While our position is challenging, on a positive note, it was great to see so many of our U23s put in a good performance in the Dorset Senior Cup, and we now have a final to look forward to.
Our spirit remains unbroken, and we will continue to fight for every point. We hope you are there to fight with us.
Yours sincerely
The Board of Directors

damn though:
Personal life
In January 2018, Meite was charged with drink-driving at Brighton Magistrates' Court, following a speeding offence in Hove on 31 December 2017.[23] He was banned from driving for 17 months and made to pay a £380 fine plus £85 costs and £38 victim surcharge.[23]
In July 2020 he was charged with stabbing a man in September 2019 in Putney.[24] In early 2022 he went on trial, accused of stabbing a man in the back in a "premeditated and not provoked attack" in a London street. In the same incident he was also stabbed running away by the person he was alleged to have stabbed.[25]
On 15 December 2022, Meite was sentenced to 15 months in prison.[26]

I for one do not think the club should update us on injuries ......Like most clubs at this level that info is kept in house , reasons being if they tell the supporters they also tell the opposition

I honestly believe all this talk about letting the opp know is total tosh , they will ,if they know what they are doing, will, probably have this info already if they really need it , this is 5th tier, not the bloody premiershipNew recruit wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 3:24 pm I for one do not think the club should update us on injuries ......Like most clubs at this level that info is kept in house , reasons being if they tell the supporters they also tell the opposition

.....perhaps we should try a different approach then, maybe give out the full medical reports of each injured player as your theory doesn't seem to be working too well for us so far.New recruit wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 3:24 pm I for one do not think the club should update us on injuries ......Like most clubs at this level that info is kept in house , reasons being if they tell the supporters they also tell the opposition

But we do have previous form when it comes to persevering with odd strategies. My favourite was the refusal to have pre-season friendlies at home. We refused for about three years in the face of much criticism and some humour at what was such an odd stance. We were saving the pitch, or protecting the players, or doing other clubs a favour... etc... What we were actually doing was the complete opposite of what every other club was doing or what fans wanted. We do tend to double down when we think we're right.
I'm not blowing this injury thing out of proportion and it's not like we're protecting Ronaldo as said above. Oldham won't care! We have clearly gone all in on it as a strategy, but it is odd. I bet if we looked, we'd find updates on the injuries of players in the 92 football leagues clubs without too much drama. But this is us and we are a bit dysfunctional at the moment.

Sorry I don’t buy that either the likes of Jenkins, Maja, Bray have been out for months so I’m sure the opposition would know that they wouldn’t be match fit to start out of the blue. Also most clubs do actually update there fans on the injury situation without giving too much away like they will start next game.New recruit wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 3:24 pm I for one do not think the club should update us on injuries ......Like most clubs at this level that info is kept in house , reasons being if they tell the supporters they also tell the opposition

Weymouth another club punching below there weight . Potential fanbase there decent ground which would easily be league standard . Probably to hard to tempt players that far West.

We had a spell not so long ago of announcing signings just before kick off which i found odd... at the time we couldn't buy a home win either i bet the opposition management really cacked themselves when they heard some loan player was in the line up from Portsmouth under 15s.Kidderminster Shots wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 4:55 pm But we do have previous form when it comes to persevering with odd strategies. Re: Wouldn’t it be nice if our club did this.
The only way the opposition are going to not know that we have an injured player is if it happens in training. But as others have said, I’m sure they are far more worried about how they setup than being worried about how to get past Maghoma in defence.
