Re: New signing
Am I the only one who thinks this might be a quite canny move, for the following reasons?
1. We are not very good at defending so it makes sense to bring in new defenders.
2. The balance of the team is better when we have a left-footed defender on the left of the back three, the position currently occupied by Olly Scott. Olly Scott is our only cover for Ryan Jones at left wing-back. So, if Ryan Jones or Olly Scott get injured, we have to play without a left-footed defender.
3. Jenkins has basically been injured since September. Remember last season when we had to play a patently unfit Coby Rowe? Yeah, that could happen again. Let's get some cover in.

Re: New signing
It's all very weird.
Maghoma, Ellison, Armitage, Woodhouse, Scott (a.Jones, Harfield)
This really doesn't feel like a good moment in the season to blood an entirely new back 3. Defending's all about communication and positioning as a team, and they're asking a lot of themselves to be able to get this right on the fly while in a relegation battle.

Re: New signing
I suspect Jenkins' hammy is bad again and he'll be out long term. Armitage is young and raw and it would be asking a lot for him to be a mainstay at the back. And as said above we lack cover on the left flank.
Now we just need our loan striker to get his chance!

Re: New signing
Jenkins was sprinting across the pitch pre-match on Tuesday at a speed which said his hamstring is alright.chimpster99 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 8:20 pm I suspect Jenkins' hammy is bad again and he'll be out long term. Re: New signing
I hope you do well for us Luca, I just hope he is here to play rather than sit on the bench and if we are lucky he can replace Maghoma.

Re: New signing
Jenkins is back in training so should be back in the next few games.
Ellison should be involved Saturday having spoken to him on Tuesday.
