Dr Jim Royle Memorial Ratings
Dad was really pissed off on Saturday when the game was called off because of a bit of cold weather. I wasn’t that bothered as I had been out all Friday night although I think I had my last Vodka before the sun rose on Saturday morning.
Anyway, no real ale tales today Mr B. But why real ale, or is it beer. If it wasn’t real would it be virtual. Doesn’t sound like much fun.
Two poor sides on show tonight. Two of our better players Frost and Hargreaves on the bench with Theo in control of our play. I don’t know much about tactics. Not like Big Jim. But I can count. I started keeping check on Kai’s brother, his dad’s best boy about 15 mins before half time. 5 touches in last 15+5 including a bloomer. I got bored in the second half but he might have added 10 more touches but no tackles. Oh and a lovely header to space. Inner not outer.
I think we also had a big boy on the bench. He runs fast. Probably quite good. No. Keep him wrapped up nice and warm.
Dewhurst (with a u Mr B) 5. Couple of mistakes and poor distribution. But behind such a poor defence he does well.
Maghoma 5 He isn’t great.
Armitage 6 early nerves. Couple of mistakes. Good prospect.
Little Scott 6 did ok
Little R Jones 6 did ok
Tetek 5 has done better. Needed Frost and Hargreaves alongside.
Widdrington 5 usual Theo. Left his one shooting boot behind in the changing rooms.
Barham 6 ran around might have enjoyed a big boy sorting out their larger defenders
Barrett 6 looked like he could win the game for us
Henry 5 he scored that’s what he does
Akpan 5 his mum gave him man of the match
Subs all ok but didn’t change the game.
Management team 0 they are so arrogant or are they poor or are they simply silly boys.

Excellent review, Madame Poppy. I hope in Dr Jim's absence we'll see some more of these from you. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
How was your father feeling after tonight? I hope his mood has improved a bit since Saturday, although after this evenings showing, perhaps he was wishing tonight was called off too.
P.S Kai is definitely no.1, has carved an excellent career where he's genuinely world class.

Enjoyable review of the game but very generous in certain quarters, are you sure the vodka has worn off fully yet??
I'd like to offer a mention to Tyler Frost who for me was the only player to come out of the game with any genuine credit.

I keep saying it Barham runs, chases and jumps 100% effort but is not
a finisher Stuttle is a goalscorer who works just like Jack, im dumbfounded.

Have to agree, Jack huffs and puffs and gives 100% but isn't getting the rewards. He needs Jonny alongside him to offer energy, pace and movement. Barrett isn't a striker and should be playing behind the front line, or benched.redandbluescb wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 9:30 am I keep saying it Barham runs, chases and jumps 100% effort but is not
