Byrd gone out on loan

🤔 management team really don’t think much of him do they!

Has to be someone else coming in surely? And maybe in time for tonight’s game?

I don't think he's all that. Not quick, not great on the ball, keeps playing people onside. He's done fine but I think he's squad depth rather than a starter.

I think they're doubling down on having footballers back there. One lump (Maghoma) then others who can use the ball. Think about how Saints play (obsessive passing out from the back last year at least) and I'm assuming the new loan lad is going to be good with the ball. Ellison is good enough. Menayese wasn't and has gone. Byrd wasn't and has gone. I think they've worked out what they want and are going to focus on that now.

Given that four players have gone out on loan I'd hope that more players are coming in.

Hope it's not just an attempt to cut costs and conserve cash.

This is getting silly now, we are sendng players out on loan yet we don't have the biggest squad either, yet we keep Maghoma.

Maghoma has his uses. He's controlled big men quite well this year. but yeah, he shouldn't be a starter by default. I'd be perfectly happy with Jones/Ellison/Scott for ordinary opponents.

Love all the different opinions!

I think Maghoma has had a poor season so far, and disagree with others saying he kept Effiong quiet.

on balance I agree. All the penalties, red cards, and general mishaps all add up for sure

exactly. This is my point as well - 5 of these 6 can pass (assuming Armitage was taught to pass by Southampton)

Don’t worry, Josh, you’ll be alright.
