Spanish Super Cup Final.... Played in Saudi Arabia
Football, for the fans I wonder how long until the Premier League follows suit and stages either the league cup or FA abroad.

Football is dead has i know it , as been for a long long time.
Very rarely watch top flight football these days, i find it very boring and painful to watch.
VAR is another reason the game for me as been ruined, just my opinion of course

Community Shield in Riyadh is surely on the way... you couldn't make it up.
'Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes. ' Brian Clough

I think that is nailed on. I was also wondering over the weekend how much longer Premier League clubs are prepared to compete against sides like Tamworth. They've already done away with replays so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a rule introduced that brought Premier League clubs in at the 4th round of the FA Cup.chimpster99 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:47 am Community Shield in Riyadh is surely on the way... you couldn't make it up.

I wouldn't be surprised by any of the points raised either. Community Shield does feel like it is nailed on to be 'showcased,' elsewhere. USA, UAE, Thailand. Who knows.

It’s a shame a lot of these people couldn’t give a **** about their own teams instead of ours, I thought England was hated by a lot of foreign people mainly because of our hooliganism problem

For me that is no longer a Spanish match, I’m guessing lots of non Spanish players and held in another country, patheticAldershot_Rob wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:03 am Spanish Super Cup Final.... Played in Saudi Arabia

I'd like to think there'd be a bigger reaction from supporters here if the Premier League ever went down this route. I don't think the Spanish are quite as 'connected' to their clubs as we are here.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 12:31 pmFor me that is no longer a Spanish match, I’m guessing lots of non Spanish players and held in another country, patheticAldershot_Rob wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:03 am Spanish Super Cup Final.... I hope they do ,Football is dead here let them go the top sides don't need fans they have that much money . The Saudis will drop football after the 34 world cup . They have got what they wanted and as soon as that's finished they'll go after something else .Aldershot_Rob wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:03 am Spanish Super Cup Final.... Played in Saudi Arabia

Not just football they're tapping into - The Arab nations are also tapping into European Basketball.
Red Star played a Yugoslav League game against Dubai last night.
The Final 4 of Euroleague (think Champions League Final) is being played in Abu Dhabi after they got the nod over Belgrade...That could end up being a good thing given 4 of the 6 teams most likely to be there currently are Red Star, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce.
And before any smart comments about no one watching Basketball...All 4 clubs mentioned average between 10 and 21,000 depending on arena capacity, with the same fans and style of support that watch the football arms of those clubs.

Is it me or could it be a good thing? Let the money clubs go and play their inter-planetary global ball trotters nonsense. Let the rest of the league be competitive and interesting again.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 1:16 pmI hope they do ,Football is dead here let them go the top sides don't need fans they have that much money .
