I know the covers have been down but a good chance the game will be frozen off, surely?
Early forecast is for it to warm up a bit by Tuesday so Iβd expect the Braintree fixture to be on.
You really must have a boring life.

Indeed. Let's all have a pop at the one person who had foresight and prudence.Josh wrote: βSat Jan 11, 2025 6:19 pmHe was correctanonymouse wrote: βThu Jan 09, 2025 1:35 pmAlex do you ever have anything positive to say, the guys work their nuts off to get the games played and all you do is come on here with comments like that.Alex wrote: βThu Jan 09, 2025 10:39 am Looks like the max temperature for Aldershot during the next few days is only going to be 2/3 degrees, and very cold at night!

Your forecast seemed to be rightLes Briley wrote: βThu Jan 09, 2025 12:01 pmYou might want to refresh your weather apps Richard, ive seen two separate forecasts, and both are saying -6 tonight & and -5 tomorrow night.Richard Petty wrote: βThu Jan 09, 2025 11:12 amThe covers went on yesterday morning when there was zero frost in the ground, the pitch was soft and 100% playable at the time the covers went down so they went on at exactly the right time.Alex wrote: βThu Jan 09, 2025 10:39 am Looks like the max temperature for Aldershot during the next few days is only going to be 2/3 degrees, and very cold at night!

The Frost covers fully protect to minus 4 degrees and the lowest temperatures forecast (Met Office) for Aldershot are minus 3 tonight and only minus 1 degree Friday night and with daytime temperatures being as you say above freezing there is very little chance of there being any frost in the ground between now and Saturday. Frost covers not only protect from frost but also absorb heat during the day which then goes into the ground which is also highly beneficial in keeping the ground soft and playable.
