Why don’t we hire a couple of industrial blowers for that bit of the pitch!

I was responding to SteveyAsp’s comment by highlighting that bit from yesterday’s announcement.drewshotsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:40 pmThat was yesterday. Didn't think to factor in a cold night before match day, then?Birdman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:36 pmFrom yesterday’s official announcement :- “We have been in constant conversation with tomorrow’s opponents and Match Official and had a locally-based National League Official visit the EBB Stadium this afternoon to assess the condition of the pitch ahead of tomorrows game.”
I will grant you that with hindsight it would’ve been prudent to have had an earlier inspection.

I’m not sure how it could have been inspected thoroughly with the covers still on….They should have had someone there when they were removed this morning.Birdman wrote:I was responding to SteveyAsp’s comment by highlighting that bit from yesterday’s announcement.drewshotsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:40 pmThat was yesterday. I was criticising the club, because they called someone in yesterday instead of match day

I left home at 1-20 day wasted, that enough for me after nearly 50 years, arrogance about the game going ahead just tops it off. The whole set up is amateur. Bullshit about a redevelopment, regular financial problems constant relegation fears it just goes on.

Pity the meltdown on here can't be applied to the famous 'area in front of the South Stand'.

Re: Todays game is OFF
Well the thinking goes that the condition will improve throughout the day. So at 9am everything's cold and hard so you have to decide if it's going to get better. Last week it did. They also had the advantage of having had the covers down earlier this week, which should have counted for something. So you can see why we ended up where we did. The rest of the ground was fine so they assumed that between midday and kickoff the bit in front of the south stand would thaw out. Like it did last week. But clearly the ref disagreed.SteveyAsp wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:59 pmI’m not sure how it could have been inspected thoroughly with the covers still on….They should have had someone there when they were removed this morning.Birdman wrote:I was responding to SteveyAsp’s comment by highlighting that bit from yesterday’s announcement.drewshotsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:40 pm

Come come my friend , it's not that bad, we'd have nothing to moan about.. apart from BBC journalism, potholes and paying to fund Scotland.. etcEx Attendant wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:00 pm I left home at 1-20 day wasted, that enough for me after nearly 50 years, arrogance about the game going ahead just tops it off. I’m with Old Bob. It wasn’t in any doubt at all if you were to believe the messages from the club and indeed the messages from the volunteers this morning!Les Briley wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:10 pm.....perhaps you should use your own mind at times, it was -7 last night so today's game was always in doubt, anyway having a few pints in good company, cheersOld Bob wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:18 pmStupid comment.
