Pitch looks really good considering the conditions. Looks like we've got some pretty good frost covers considering all the fixtures that have already fallen foul of the freezing weather.

I also want to add my thanks to all the ground staff and volunteers that make this possible week after week.

I didn't want to say anything sooner on here to tempt fate but when we were in this morning we lifted the edges of a few covers and even at just after 9am it would have been playable so confidence was very high around the club that the covers had worked as they should and as long as tonight was not colder than last night there would be no issues.

Full Credit to Steve the Groundsman and Chris (anonymouse on here) for communicating well with each other and getting the timing of when we put the covers down on Wednesday spot on. If you get them put on at exactly the right time when the pitch is fully (or close to) thawed then that's when they work at their best and perform as designed going forward.
The old saying goes "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you will never please all the people all the time." In fact sometimes it seems impossible to even please some of the people any of the time

Still supposed to be minus 4 tomorrow at 9am . If we are that confident I'd leave them on till 11am

Well done to all involved.

Hopefully tonight isn't too cold and we can all look forward to the game tomorrow.

Doesn’t mean the game is definitely on.

The referee might have a different opinion!

But well done to everyone involved for trying their hardest to get the game on.

Well done to the groundsman and all the volunteers for doing a professional job in getting the covers on in plenty of time before any frost could get in, makes the likes of Barnet & Maidenhead look rather amateurish. 😉
