Completely agree Village, what I wrote was my experience on the night at Dagenham. As I said to a number of people pre and post match, I would never entertain a manager recruiting his son at the club. Primarily because no matter what anyone says nepotism will always rear its ugly head and that in itself breeds dressing room unrest and a lack of camaraderie.Village Shot wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 8:13 pm Brian, let's be very clear,it's been boiling for some time now.

Re: Dejan Tetek
I do agree with Brian and in fact as I said a while back in a previous thread I don't actually think it does Theo any favours because even if he was doing well he would still get the accusations of being favoured. Fairly or unfairly he will never be credited for his place in the team being on his own merit.Shots1954 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:00 pmJust makes you wonder how and why he was allowed..........brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:58 pmCompletely agree Village, what I wrote was my experience on the night at Dagenham. However in regards to your point about how it was allowed, there isn't really any way it could have been prevented. The manager picks his players and even if a director or even the chairman had advised him against it the decision remains the managers. As has often been said on here you can't have directors interfeering in the team selection, after all for every right decision they might make they are (as not being football managers) just as likely to make more wrong decisions.

Probably part of the deal to get Tommy to cone to Aldershot was also his son coming. Said it time and time again Tommy's pig headiness in playing Theo will be one of the reasons he will get sackedShots1954 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:00 pmJust makes you wonder how and why he was allowed..........brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:58 pmCompletely agree Village, what I wrote was my experience on the night at Dagenham. Over the last week or so we have had a number of understandably angry and worried supporters suggesting on here that maybe its time the managers position was up for review but at the same time accusing the chairman of various issues over that such as "Always leaving it to late", "Not having the guts", Not caring etc, etc... but at the same time another group of supporters have been posting with the opposite criticism that the Chairman will probably "Throw the manager under the bus" , "Always sacks the manager" etc.... if its that hard for supporters to know the right direction then it will be equally hard for the BOD.
Personally I don't think we have reached the "Sack the manager point yet" because as the debates on here illustrate whilst nearly all us recognise that TW has made some poor choices and decisions this season there are still plenty (including myself) who do feel that the improvement he brought in last season has earnt him some credit in the bank to give him time to put things right. He does keep saying that we have players now very close to coming back from injury so if he can get them back into the team and that brings improvement then maybe we can put this season down as a blip. If however he continues to play with the same players who are letting him down and causing us issues even when other better players are fit then he will be the master of his own downfall.

Good post Richard and I totally agree. As for Tetek, he should absolutely start every game that he’s capable of doing - in my view, alongside Henry, he’s comfortably the best player we have.Richard Petty wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 11:34 amIf ever there was an example of a no win situation these last two posts sum it up.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 10:53 amOur beloved chairman if the fans turn on him again will always get rid of the manager to deflect the heat

On the Theo debate, I’ve never really understood why he’d want to be at the same club as his dad. As others have said it’s a no win situation for him. However, if he’s going to be then he must understand the extra pressure/scrutiny that comes with that which makes his behaviour on Tuesday even more staggering. It’s clearly, again in my view, best for all concerned that he moves on.

Because if he struck out on hus own, he would be playing part time for peanuts in the Southern League and having to actually work for a living. Much easier to hang from Daddy's apron strings and have lots of spare time to make mind-numbing YouTube videos about golf.Shots Fired wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 11:56 am On the Theo debate, I’ve never really understood why he’d want to be at the same club as his dad. Dont fully agree Richard. It would be nice to know who was interviewed for the managers job in the past and who employed him......maybe we got the cheapest ? Who knows, the problem lies above the manager as they dont have the ambition or know how or the money to run the club we always do everything on a shoe string....and as i said we will drift down the river aimlessly at our level which will get lower and lower.
Its all about debate and opinions, though you do have some good points Richard.
I still do not understand why the present board came in if it does not have the money to run the club from the first day.
