Tommy Willard should still be at the Club, in my opinion. He was/is an excellent prospect who we should be experiencing.brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 9:14 amAgree SFH and I thought Willard gave us a different dimension when he came on as sub.sugrues flying headbutt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 7:53 am He was one of our top performers last season along with Harfield, Mnoga, Stokes and Tolaj. For me he was one of the only players along with Tolaj who came out of the WBA game with any credit.
Unfortunately for various reasons none of them are playing for us now.

Re: Ryan Glover
I am surprised to realise that Tommy Willard had completely gone out of my mind, I had forgotten he is only on loan at Worthing. I would love to see him back but he went on a long term loan until the end of the season so it's unlikely that we will have a recall clause in the agreement.Harlow Massive wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 3:23 pmTommy Willard should still be at the Club, in my opinion. I had forgotten too, in the circumstances we are in he should be recalled/should have been recalled!Richard Petty wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 3:58 pmI am surprised to realise that Tommy Willard had completely gone out of my mind, I had forgotten he is only on loan at Worthing. Re: Ryan Glover
Tommy was released at the end of last season, following a loan at Worthing.
Re: Ryan Glover
Going by this headline it appears to me to be a permanent move :- https://worthingfc.com/2024/06/tommys-back-for-good/

Yup, Tommy Willard should still be at Shots and being played in his favoured position!

Re: Ryan Glover
This is just me personal view but I always had the feeling that Ryan Glover was never Tommy's first choice for the starting eleven. At the beginning of last season both he and Tyler Frost were both on the substitute bench and only achieved starting places through injuries and suspensions. Both more than proved their worth in the team , especially when operating as wing-backs. Ryan showed improvement throughout the season, especially in the defensive side of the role although perhaps his performance fell off a little towards the end of the season. Throughout that period, once Ollie Scott had joined, it seemed to me that Tommy was always looking for an opportunity to get Scott onto the pitch. Perhaps Ryan felt that his position was less secure and that may have contributed to his reluctance to sign a new contract.

Re: Ryan Glover
Unfortunately TW's preference of 3-4-1-2 / 3-4-2-1 with no wingers made Glovers and Willards roles redundant. A shame as both were better players than some we have now.

Re: Ryan Glover
I googled him and got the article saying he was on loan until the end of the season, I didn't look at the date of the articleCH wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 4:25 pmand that we announced he was released back in April.Birdman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 4:20 pmGoing by this headline it appears to me to be a permanent move :- https://worthingfc.com/2024/06/tommys-back-for-good/

I don't really understand why we let him go he was a decent player who always gave 100%. I do recall him having a spell of poor games which led to his original loan but when he came back he seemed a lot stronger and a lot more like his old self.

Re: Ryan Glover
That's where I would play him as that's where our main problem area is and he has the creativity to take the ball forward rather than remaining static and just trying to pass it on.Banbury Shot wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 4:51 pmAgree, but he did a pretty decent job in midfield as well when he stepped in.
