Harsh.
IMO he’s had numerous very good games

Probably the most blatant red card you’ll ever seeZippy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 7:34 am So Baby told Daddy that he hit him in the chest (not the face). Apart from it being obvious that he hit him in the face, even hitting him in the chest would have probably caused a yellow - to add to the yellow that he got for gobbing off at the ref. Given Daddy's disciplinary record, it is hardly surprising I guess.

It's pretty common practice for the manager to hook a player on a yellow, especially one as volatile as Theo, christ, Tommy must know Theo's temperament and guess that a second yellow is immanent, yes, I realise it was a straight red for the punch but he should have been hooked after the yellow.aldershot-jg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 6:13 am Wasn't the best night for Akpan with the needless penalty and should have done better defending the two other goals, albeit the second goal came from the free kick from Theo's stupidity. We were only 1-0 down and he was already on a yellow anyway it's the stupidest red card we've had in a long time, can't even argue about it because it was so blatant. We shot ourselves in the foot with the penalty but Theo cost us the chance of getting something from that game. It would have likely stayed 1-0 for at least a bit longer and we would have had 11 men still.

That’s us exiting the Trophy then!Birdman wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 8:10 am If the sending off is competition related then he’ll be available for the next two fixtures against Soton u21’s in the NL cup and Wealdstone in The Trophy. Then, assuming that it’s a minimum three game ban, he’ll miss the following three league fixtures (Solihull, Halifax, FGR) before being available to play on Boxing Day.

After watching Theo jog about and contribute the square root of naff all on Saturday, watching Tetek on the Vanarama highlights of last night shows his team selection is bordering on the insane.
I totally agree with Alex on this one, in that it appears TW is trying to prove a point because his team selections dare to be questioned by the great unwashed, he alluded to it on Saturday when talking about Lachlan Byrd, and last night it was also mentioned on the commentary that he was roasting Tyler Frost consistently on the sideline despite him putting in a near MOM performance. Both he and Tetek would be useful players in any team in this league. The can't be said for those who occupy the number 5 and 6 shirts who seem to be guaranteed a start whenever they aren't serving daft suspensions.

I think we have to remember what the Linnet fans said, he has his favourite players, and will continue to pick them when others are playing better.
It is not the sign of a great manager, we need a brutally hard man who players must impress to get into the team.

Should the Chairman/BOD have done this due diligence "investigation" prior to the appointment?supershots wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:08 am I think we have to remember what the Linnet fans said, he has his favourite players, and will continue to pick them when others are playing better.

He will miss Wealdstone (FA Trophy), Solihull (A) and Halifax (H), only yellow cards are competition specific, red cards apply to all competitions apart from the National League Cup.Birdman wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 8:10 am If the sending off is competition related then he’ll be available for the next two fixtures against Soton u21’s in the NL cup and Wealdstone in The Trophy. Theo had not been booked before his sending off, the only booking we received last night was Barrett for "gobbing off at the ref" and he waited to restart after the first goal. All of the media had a bad night reporting the game, I'm surprised Florida Phil isn't here having a go at the Press Association.Zippy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 7:34 am So Baby told Daddy that he hit him in the chest (not the face). If it's just a 3 match ban. It's his second suspension already this season and blatant violent conduct. Would anyone be surprised if the league took a sterner view (I guess it depends on the referees report)

Why that reply?
I think most of us are hoping for the same.
The longer he’s unavailable the better for ATFC!
