No chance of the Chairman doing that, In my opinion.......chimpster99 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:19 pm I'm tempted to sit right by the dugout for the next game when Theo plays. This has gone on too long. The nepotism is absolutely toxic and I'd bet that's a very divided dressing room.
The Chairman should grow a pair and mete out some internal discipline for that one tonight, show both Widds who's in charge.

I watched the game on DAZN tonight and not for the 1st time this season, Aldershot have shot themselves in the foot. This was a game Aldershot should have won comfortably - without setting the world on fire they controlled the first half, hitting the post twice and restricting the Daggers to hopeful efforts that didn't test Dewhirst.
Then 6 crazy minutes after H-T and we were 1-0 down and down to 10 men. I like Akpan and he has improved a lot going forward but tonight he was mostly at fault for all 3 goals. He is a wing back not a right back and that naivety cost us. I cannot understand why Lachran Byrd is not the right sided CB - he has performed well there this season and Akpan wouldn't need to retreat that deep if he had that insurance behind him. Maghoma didn't commit any glaring mistakes tonight but he did get caught out of position as the right sided CB.
But even at 1-0 down the Shots were still in the game- until Theo's moment of madness. The TV didn't show any replays so I was none the wiser until I saw the X video after the game. It was inexplicable and he should be fined and severely reprimanded by his Dad. He wasn't having a bad game up to then, so to commit that red card offence was utter stupidity - Theo should apologise to all Shots supporters.
The 2nd and 3rd goals were also bad defending but with only 10 men we were stretched.at the back. TW's substitutions gave the team some much needed energy and creativity in midfield - DejanTetek was the architect of the recovery in the final 20 minutes. Without Widds and Hargreaves alongside him, he and Tyler Frost were given the room to showcase their skills and it led to 2 good goals - and even chances to get an equaliser. The final quarter of the game were definite positives and maybe demonstrated the way forward.

Totally agree, but I guess the chairman will think he shouldn't get involved, but the lack of discipline in this cub is costing us.chimpster99 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:19 pm I'm tempted to sit right by the dugout for the next game when Theo plays. Poor interview, and it appeared that there was an agreement not to mention the sending off. I support TW, but he is backing himself into a corner with Theo, and losing the backing a lot of fans. An apology would have been more appropriate.

But the Manager is an employee of the Club and the Chairman holds the position to represent the Club as the employer and also the interests of those people that pay their hard earned money into the Club by way of entrance fee, advertising and sponsorship etc etcNorthcampshot wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:08 pmTotally agree, but I guess the chairman will think he shouldn't get involved, but the lack of discipline in this cub is costing us.chimpster99 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:19 pm I'm tempted to sit right by the dugout for the next game when Theo plays. Barely a mention of the red card in the post match interview. Interviewer and the manager should be embarrassed by the attempted whitewash of such a serious incident. TW senior should be on borrowed time now. His performance leaves a lot to be desired and I’m far from comfortable with him being the manager of my team. The whole situation, including the appalling disciplinary record, needs addressing by those at the top. It’s not professional, it’s not acceptable.

That's a really poor interview.

Rob’s interview for BBC Surrey Sport is much better and Tommys reply about the sending off was “Has he done anything? He says he pushed him in the chest” https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0k7506c

Been out all evening so only just catching up with the result and the sorry tale of tonight's game on here. I really had hoped we would get a win at Dagenham tonight and it certainly looks like team selection has played its part again.
Without actually seeing the game its difficult to comment on individual players performances but there does seem to be a consistent factor that defensively we seem to be a lot better when Byrd is playing so I would have thought that a spell on the bench for Maghoma would certainly be something worth a try for a few games
Regarding Theo there have been some positive aspects to his game that continue to make him a player I struggle to come to a conclusion over. However I do think there comes a point where maybe it is time to say he isn't going to make it at this level. The lack of discipline whenever I have seen it seems to me to stem from frustration when he sees the game is passing him by which unfortunately seems to happen all to often.
I actually feel a bit sorry for him because I suspect the problem comes from being the equivalent of over promoted at work and maybe being told he is better than he is capable of being with the result he is perhaps struggling to live up to that expectation. Maybe a spell on loan to a NLS or NLN side where he could do better would probably benefit not just us but him as well.

The old saying goes "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you will never please all the people all the time." In fact sometimes it seems impossible to even please some of the people any of the time
