OH NO! I didn't spot they were playing in the National League Cup, seems that has wiped the suspension off.

I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but he's definitely gamed the system to get Tuesday off. Simulation yellow card in the 71st minute vs Southend? Makes. You. Think.

That would surprise me because I am sure we were able to field a player in that competition who was on a ban because its a different competition

Not convinced it does, in the "Essential Information For Players 2024/25" it states that 5 bookings in National League matches and the player will miss the next National League game. Rules for cup competitions apply only to the same competition, so in the similat EFL Trophy, 2 bookings mean you miss the next EFL Trophy game, the same applies to the FA Cup and EFL Cup, The National League Cup isn't mentioned but I would have thought the rules are the same.

To back this up whem Christian Maghoma was sent off against Bath City he was allowed to play against Derby U21 a few days later, if you check the rules a player will miss the next 3 games in league and cups apart from the EFL Trophy, when is why I believe the same rules apply to the National League Cup.

Rules are here, scroll down to the English pdf.

Ok, I feel reassured - I got spooked when he wasn't even listed in the squad for their NL Cup game.

I suppose it could all mean nothing when Storm Bert comes to town on Saturday

Looks like we are just outside the yellow warning area for rain, and well outside the warning area for wind. It's going to be wet and mucky but unlikely to be called off as things stand.

I hope your right though RBC have cancelled the Farnborough Frost Fair on Saturday due to predicted winds of 40 to 50mph, of course that is Farnborough not Aldershot but still quite close. Probably too soon to be sure of the accuracy of any forecast for Saturday yet but Met Office who are usually pretty good does show the same for Aldershot (Gusts of 45mph to 47mph between 3pm and 6pm) which could make accuracy with the ball a bit interesting.
